I've been looking for a good half hour now, and it seems there isn't a single modified NSU Ro80 on the entire internet... Unless you know different! Such a great looking car, lots of potential! Wonder how difficult it'd be to get a modern Mazda rotary in there?

I'd like to do one up like a police car - Ro80cop! ;D (grooooan!) Yeah I love them - so quirky. I've never seen one in the metal though.

There is a heavily modded one out there, but unless you know Ro80s, it looks normal - a T top convertable (like a Triumph Stag) that IIRC, was built by RoTechniks in Berkshire.

Been having a look: All I could find was this one with a trick paint-job. Found on www.nsu.nu

It always surprises me how modern the RO80 looks for what is now a 40 year old design. I'm currently doing a uni project on the rotary engine so i nead as many pics of the RO80 and any other rotary engined cars as you can throw at me ;D - (maybe an idea for next fridays pic challenge)

Yes, but it's made by Minichamps, so it's a very nice model and definately not a toy, so it's worth paying £15!!

Such a great looking car, lots of potential! Wonder how difficult it'd be to get a modern Mazda rotary in there? Many Ro80 owners have replaced the NSU engine with Mazda 12A's and 13B's, though their aim is more reliability than performance.

One with the engine out of a later RX7 (like the kind that we never really got many of in the UK due to some emmisions law! ) would really shift! Don't they have more than 250bhp as standard??
