I went to this last year and it was a cracking day! I went on the Friday thanks to free tickets from the sunday times Firstly, does anyone know if they are doing the free Friday tickets again in the Sunday times? Also, I like the fact that Friday is a lot cheaper, is it however, worth paying the extra and going on Saturday/Sunday? Friday last year wasn't too busy really, which made it a very pleasant day. You could walk around and not worry about struggling to find a good spot What dya reckon? What days are you lot going? Couple of snaps from last year

When did they do it last year? I was unaware of it until my friends Dad just gave me a couple of tickets!! Was it much closer to the event than we are at the moment?

I went a couple of years ago, scored some tickets off a lad on here... a fantastic day out, but the 9 hours spent sitting in traffic jams (3hours there, 6 hours home ) means I won't be going again until I can make a proper long weekend of it.

Its a great day out. I'd go on the Friday, as there are less F1 groupies trying to catch a glimpse of Jenson Button or whoever. ;D

I've crowd marshalled at the festival of speed several times, managed to grab a quick chat with Stirling Moss the first year I was there (the second year it ran). Its always been really good. Ive not been in the last few years though, i've got a new favourite local car event, the revival meet is the best. Been the last two years, tweed suit and flat caped to look the early sixties landed motor enthusiast type. Great fun and great cars, tin tops going hell for leather is ace. Going Sunday this year, with swmbo, brother, sis-in-law, neice, and my mum and dad, we'll all be period looking. Some pics: Galaxy overcooks it trying to keep up with alan mann cortina Hmmm, arty. Posing alert!

Yeah the dressing up is a bit silly, but all part of what makes it totally unique. And Swmbo likes the dresses.
I've just purchased a new straw hat for this years motor and music related festivities.

The sat and sunday is when all the big guns are out on track, f1 drivers, TOCA names, Dragsters other cool stuff. Friday is nice and chilled and not as busy usually. This year I am planning on doing the whole weekend and just camping. Missed out last year, but not again.

Hmmm think I'm going to go Friday again this year.
Problem is.... do I buy tickets now, or hold out to see if the Sunday times are going todo another freebie thing?!

They sold out last year IIRC, so bear that in mind.

but no competition for paulH's foreign legion hat. ;D ;D ;D That might make a reappearance at this years RR show if it's really sunny As for the FoS, I haven't been for years - in fact, only went one year ('96) when I was working there. However the Revival is great fun ;D
