Mine. Registered 1st November 1971 (so must be one of the very last), ONE owner ever since, 79,000m from new, when I pick it up sometime in the next week it will be taxed and MOT'd for 12 months. I'm not saying what it cost me, but I have enough left over from the sale of the Rangey to insure it, give it a full service and BUY A BIG BUCKET OF SATIN BLACK PAINT With thanks to my Dad, who's at a classic car show at Catton Hall up near Burton, he spotted it, and I wazzed up there at 7am this morning in The Scrote to give it a razz round and pay da man. I'm sat here grinning like a Cheshire cat, and SWMBO is starting to think I've lost the plot. ;D Full Reader's Rides thread when I've picked it up and played with it.

Thats cool, tax exempt-ness for the win! Have you thought of doing anything else to it apart from the satin black?

Nice. Very nice. Satin black, V8 and a simple LPG kit. Doesn't need loads of power. Juts the growl.

Thats cool, tax exempt-ness for the win! Have you thought of doing anything else to it apart from the satin black? Not yet......mechanically it drives absolutely spot-on, I don't think I've ever piloted such a smooth and quiet B-series, it's obviously been well looked-after. It's going to be a roadtrip warrior so I may well plunder my dad's stock of MGB gearboxes for an overdrive, depending on how easy it will be to slip one in, apart from a bit of trad detailing I'm just gonna enjoy owning it. I've wanted an A60 for ages, and thought that they were getting out of my reach price-wise, hence I'd been looking at their smaller A40 brethren.....I'd always have felt that it wasn't quite what I wanted though. I'm absolutely thrilled to own it, and I know I'm just going to love being at the helm.

Nice one Brian! K plate is certainly unusual! Of course now I have to tell you to join CO-OC! Just ask if there's anything you want to know.....

Looks good as it is - why satin black it?

Looks good as it is - why satin black it? Because it's almost exactly the same colour as The Scrote, and like Jeff, the salesman in the movie 'Used Cars'....I have a thing about red Having said that once I've attacked it with the T-Cut (and it needs a full-scale assault......the pics are decieving, it was raining) I might feel differently.

I really like these cars, something very honest about them. Never seen a K plate one neither. Maybe some banded rostyles FTW? I think these are 114.3 pcd, so that opens up all sort of loveliness.

I really like that, great little find there. If it was me owning that (which it's not lol) then i would keep it completely original.

Fair enough if it deserves it. I know how decieving pics can be sometimes BTW, it's not red - that's maroon ;D

A subtle stick hitting, painted steels and a few period accesories. Plus that polishing job and I'd be happy Nice purchase!

Ah an excellent choice **steeples fingers**
So it's got a B series engine huh? **steeples fingers again**
Had you thought about a heavily tuned B with single 45? That would sound mental and go like stink.

But as Rudi told Jeff in order to get him to drive that fire chief`s LTD back - there`s primer under that paint, so youre really driving a GREY car.... Anyway welcome to the recently acquiring a car you`ve been after for a long time club, these were one of my faves as a kid, I`d be tempted, seeing as you`ve already got the black paint to two tone it, black over the maroon.
