Great project! They tried to do a little something different with the PT cruiser but almost didn't go far enough with it. Glad to see you're finishing the design work off for them and i can't wait to see it finished! Guy
Right long time no post but good progress has been made - a lot of detail work which hopefully you'll see in the pics. It was really important to me to get the reveal right with the right kind of recess for the full effect.
Rear fenders were nicely smoothed off and the door welds carefully blended in.
Door jams got some smoothing attention:
Then black primer once everything was properly flatted down:
Door jams are looking nice and tidy:
Hopefully painted in the next day or so...nearing the end!
I'm not really a fan of the PT from the aspect that it was a built to an accountants ledger. The idea was right, the execution was wrong. The type of people that like old woody wagons, hot rods etc don't want an asthmatic 4cyl FWD from a Neon, they want a RWD 6 or 8 (or even the Viper v10 that some guy put in!). They also don't want an interior that looks like an explosion at a lego factory. Same problem as the Prowler. Cool looking, but vanilla engine/trans combo and plastic interior.
I think as the years go by, these things will be start getting to the price where people will start modding them to what they should have been to start with.
Are you getting a mural? Can't have a panel van without a mural.. that's the rules.
