B2gger ! I love vans, I wanted to do something different and convert something into a van, I started googling PT Cruisers thinking nobody else had though of it and it seems I am 6 years too late to the party! What an amazing build. Do you still have it delux? is it for sale? Cheers

Hey @bungle1243324534 - I’ve still got my blue PT Panelvan. It’s now back on the road with a fresh MOT after being dormant during 2020. For sale? Possibly because I have two...one needs to go.

Haha grizz - down to only the two PT two doors, beach buggy and T4 campervan which decided to soil its fuel injection pump and block my driveway - so that is now my main mechanical project. The 944 moved on and I really need to finish the Retrofuturism II coupe so I can decide to keep it or sell it. The issues with the campervan has swallowed up too many weekends I want to drive more after all the lockdowns!

Would be rude not to stop and take some pics coming home from the first socially distanced coffee meet up with some custom UK Cruiser owners this morning in the freshly cleaned PT panelvan. I removed the graphics to reveal the hand painted lettering for the first time in a couple seasons - I do love that artwork.

The problem with project cars is that they're never really done even when you think they're finished...I've had a bee under my bonnet for a while now about the panels in the back. I really did not like the fact that the wheel arches are grey and so intrusive for starters. So I ripped them all out to see if I could do better... First things first and in went the sound deadening on the inside of the panels and foam insulation into the cavities. Then some more insulation on top of the sound deadening. Now to figure out where to go to form here to make it how I want it - and it won't involve doing it all in carpet!

This is partly why I never get my panelvan done… You made it look easy which I'm sure wasn't the case! Those Montana paints have always fascinated me and am very tempted to use it to freshen up my black 92 Chevy. Can it be buffed up to obtain a decent shine/gloss or am I barking up the wrong tree?!!

Use Montana White range as it’s gloss out of the can. Look up my Mazda 121 thread. Only panel on that that I ‘polished’ was the bonnet because it got a bit fisheyed when painted.

Thanks brachunky - those MTN are the easiest and best spray cans I’ve ever used. Props for the heads up Rich

Yep, good paint. I did my wheels with them a couple of years ago - easy to use and have lasted pretty well. For the price it's well worth it.

I drove past this today in Maidstone, imagine my surprise! Sadly not in a position to be able to take a pic, it looked really good.
