We zoomed down to the Triumph day at Brooklands today. Rather ashamedly I'd enver been there before but it is a super place! Such history just lying around and the banking is really spectacular. I took some arty shots with my proper camera but here's some digi photos of some of the cars...
The queue to get in.
General shot up by the banking.
This is the closest we've ever seen to another car like ours. Same colour and interior (which is an unusual combo for 1200 Heralds) and registed in '70 so late model too. On boring spitfire wheels though
Lovely TR6 on Cosmics.
Bond Equipe
Engine bay of an imaculate 1200 Coupe. Clearly not a regularly used car!
Tail end of the same car. This photo just for Rmad!
A modifed early spit wearing the same wheels we've got for the Herald! Owner has never seen another set and helped out with wheelnut queries
It contained a serious 1300 that revs to 8000rpm...
Babs inside the museum Campbell shed
Cool fuel tanker.
This however was the vehicle of the day for me. Why?....
Read this!
It MUST have been devised down the pub one night!
And then we spotted this in the public car park!
I called the new owner and he's a "friend" of the museum and bought us a drink while we had a natter on the balcony of the Members bar ;D He's dead chuffed with the van and it was nice (but very strange!) to see it again so soon.
As we were there 'til quite late it was quiet up by the banking so I moved the car to take a few photos. Gotta be done really.
All in all a really good day out ;D
