;D Nice, MOT with no advisories, coilovers on and tracking and camber set properly - experienced G's round roundabout on the way home. Now for the dreaded tax, I can't find my insurance docs anywhere right now, but do I need them at the post office to do it ?? Can't do it on line at the mo as I don't have a card ( long and TOTALLY ot story ! ) thanks... Oh, and these are in as well now......

If you do it over the phone with the reference number on your reminder form then all your details are check electronically, no need to dig out any paperwork. I did it this way and the tax disc turned up 2 days later. Dead easy.
EDIT - Didn't read your post properly. Yes you will need documents if you do it at the PO.

But you'd still need a credit card or debit card over the phone....

If you phone up your insurance company and ask them to e-mail you your documents (I think most do now-a-days) and when you get them (I had mine about 10 minutes later) just print them off and go to the post office ;D
Note: Don't tell the PO that you printed them... The insurance companys are fine with you doing it, but the PO nazi's don't like it.

I'm with Yes Insurance, they didn't allow my certificate being emailed But they did fax it, a dubious fax at that and still got my shiny disc. Faxing has worked on a previous tax attempt too... Which is good because I normally need them ASAP.

Worst thing is at my local PO, I have to take my passport or drivers licence before they will issue the Tax disc for some reason.
Old duffer runs it.

The one's I've used over the last few years have had no problem with me asking them not to write the engine capacity on the disc (I prefer not to advertise such alterations to the general public, but it's all properly declared to my insurers & the DVLA) I've also never had to pay for a tax disc either ;D

I've never had to produce passport, birth certificate or a DNA sample BUT I've tried with both a faxed and emailed certificate of insurance and came away empty-handed.
Most certificates I've had either have a hologram (well, a shiny bit of tinfoil) or a heat-sensitive logo that you need to huff on and it changes colour.

Sod it. Can't find it. Have now done it online, lets hope it arrives by sat. I suppose driving without a tax disc despite having paid for it is a " NO NO " as well ?? Failure to display etc ??
