Just cut the roof off another car, easy solution and much simpler than trying to repair it. Or is that missing the point somewhat

Wang the roof off it, plate over the rear area, couple of girders down the floor and bingo

Theres nothing there a good bodyshop couldn't get out. Could be a real sweety...those 2.5pi's bloody shift! Agreed - can't believe that it'd be too difficult to sort out, provided that the shell isn't distorted (it appears to be straight, as the door shut lines look fine).

It looks superficial in the pic - I`m no expert but if the shell hasnt distorted through being picked up with chains does that not kind of prove how solid it is?

I understand what you're saying. However I've seen a seriously rotten Minor on the top of the pile in a yard that was so rotten that the brake master cylinder (inside the chassis rail) was being pushed up through the floor, and that was still straight despite having been chained into place. It must be said though that Minors are tough little buggers!

The roof will dress out okay going by the pics.
Nice solid motor, but it'd be a killer for the guy if another banger racer won it !
Certainly got a soft spot for these PI's & this ones in a good colour too, hopefully someone will get her fixed up.
