or any other 'interesting' i.e. non stock commers..... cos ive started work on ours and its very unrusty, so that means more fun can be had in the timescale ive got to do it

I saw that commer on a vespa/lambretta forum aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages ago and have sinced a)LOVED commers, and b)been trying to find more photos of it! It's gorgeous!

I have a really good reconditioned rear door available (commer pb camper) - free to a good home - bedforshire also headlights and badging!

Somebody was building a pro street Commer panel van in Custom Car a few months ago, it was just a space frame and Commer front end back then but I bet it's moved on since.

interesting.... I like the way the reverse wires still don't fill out the arches ;D any more anyone? trying to get motivated to get it on the road for big bang

Not many ,.. I think you are trail blazing a bit ,.. as far as I can see..
Although I'd expect a lot more lower budget campers and vans to start popping up now that VW vans have stuck at the prices they are.. more Commers, Hi-aces etc. etc.

When was the last time a v-dub rolled out the factory with an interior like this? Its like a palace compared to the normal tin you get inside a vw ;D

I thought that 1st Commer was powered by an SR20 lump? I'm sure that what the Retro Cars feature said?

nice van ...bet its interesting cornering with that narrow front track ! Used to drive a brand new one of those (1972)...if you know what youre doing you can really get them going into the turns! They also roll if youre not careful!
