On Sunday I will be competing in an autotest run by my old University. I've entered the Golf as the Mini still isn`t finished. <shame, as it's got a fly-off handbrake>
Has anybody here competed in one before, if so, do you have any advice? Car set-up etc.
I'll post some pics of it on Sunday evening.

I did an atotest in my old Mini about 6 years ago on the IOW - it was the most fun (apart from driving a Lotus Elise around Silverstone for a day) I've ever had.....
However, it's a right pain getting in to a Mini with a crash helmet on when you're 6'2".........!
Have you sorted out insurance? - car and life of course.
Missed the advice bit....!
1 Wear a crash helmet 2 Don't use your road tyres 3 Ensure your filler cap doesn't leak 4 Go round the car and make sure everything is tight - wheel nuts, track rod ends etc 5 If you've got adjustable suspension, lower it a bit. 6 Ensure the handbrake and other brakes work correctly - you don't want 'brake pull' 7 Check oil, water and fuel levels 8 Get the engine to running temperature before competing 9 Take everything (apart from fuel tank) out of boot - including anything else you have lying around inside the car 10 HAVE FUN............!

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Insurance is included in the entrance fee. When I was still there, we ran 12-car navigational rallies, that really gets the adreniline going .

So you have to wear a crash helmet then?
Is a roll cage / roll over bar required in an open car, and what about seatbelts? I ask only as my Sprite has neither.....
