Yeah, I'm interested to see that myself. I was going to test fit it today, but haven't got the time. Took it out for its weekly hoon and I'm not as confident as I was that it will fit...the Recaro looks mighty wide sitting on the ground.
Very quick vid before I put it back in the garage. Idling a bit high, but doesn't sound bad at all for a stock port.
I got some pretty curse word news about the MKIIs I won at auction - apparently, the seller sold them outside of auction but didn't end the auction. An absolute kick in the balls. Gutted. Heartbroken. The 8j pair have been designated to the wheel shed for the time being.
I picked these up instead, early one-piece Work Equip 01, 13 x 7.5j and 8.5j -10. Not as mad dishy as the MKIIs, but still pretty cool and should look aces.
The Longchamps are looking nice tho...
Also, not such good luck with the rad, rad hoses and e-fan I picked up. Rad bolts up lovely, but the bottom Racing Beat hose doesn't work with it. The fan fits on the stock rad, but I forgot to account for the size difference with the new rad, and it doesn't fit on there. And the new rad won't fit with the stock fan because of the Gilmer pulley set up. So, just running the stock rad and fan along with the Gilmer pulley at the minute. Thinking I might go with twin 10 inch fans instead of the 16 incher, use the top Racing Beat hose with a flexi Samco bottom hose. And speaking of the Gilmer, here it is running -
In better news, my T3 rear coilovers and traction brackets arrived. The fronts are a couple of weeks behind. Serious quality piece of kit, very impressed.
They do look nice. I'll wait with interest to see if you get any clearance issues with the extra width of a coilover against the original shock on the rear. I understand coilovers sometimes catch against the inside of the turret.
Got the fronts in, sitting nicely now. New wheels arriving Monday, so things should progress pretty quickly then. Thinking twice on the overfenders, might just get them flared out instead.
I like the RX7 very much. There were a couple racing on TV last week (Goodwood Members Meeting) and I got quite excited about that! They had some weird long megaphone exhausts back in the day and made a hell of a racket!
Rears fitted. I'd like it a little lower but I'm happy with it. Handles a million billion times better even with the alignment all out of whack! My old top mounts were properly shot up front, though.
HKB hub arrived from Driftworks this morning, love how the wheel fits and feels
Test fitted the Equips. First fit well, gonna need some arch work most likely.
The rears, not such good news. First the dust cover had to be grinded off. Then it was fouling on the caliper ever so slightly. The grinder will be taken to the caliper, but thats a job for Monday. And they will definitely need arch work!
So the rear shocks fit fine with no rubbing on the inside of the turrets or anything? That's good to know. Dare I ask for a link or price as to where you got them from? PM if you like.
Those wheels look massive, not surprised you need a bit of arch relief. Mind you, the wings are quite flexible. We managed to pull mine out quite a bit without them distorting. Not that my wheels are anywhere near as manly as those, lol
Just noticed alot of my images are now dead - guess thats what I get for being lazy and linking to a service that sits on top of instagram :-p
Been selling a few wheels to fund my 20b rebuild, and don't have the money to do the arch work to fit my wide Equip 01s. So pulled these Casablanca's out of the shed, loving how they look.
That'll keep me happy for another while
I've also picked up a JDM FB bumper direct from Japan. In pretty good nic, needs a spray, need the centre garnish then I can fit it.
