I moved back to Ireland a couple of weeks ago. I brought the FB down to the 7s Day Meet in Galway last Saturday. After being laid up for 3 months, it started first turn of the key (some battery in there!) and did a 7 hour round trip including a run without missing a beat. A bit of a shame taking out the 12a, but feck it, more power! I got a new waterpump for the 13b and we're pretty much ready to go. The stock rad is in good condition, so we're going to use that for now. We're also going to try run the stock beehive oil cooler. I think it looks awesome and functions perfectly. We're also putting the Gilmer drive on the long finger. My buddy stripped the engine bay yesterday, so we're hoping to drop the engine and box early next week and throw the 13b and S4 box in there. I'm pretty nervous, as I pretty much bought the engine and box blind, relying on start up and running videos from the seller. Fingers crossed it's a decent engine. And a pic on the way down to the Irish 7s Day Meet And the awesome commemorative tshirt. Few pics with a mates mk1 Escort

So, been a pretty eventful week... 12A out 13B in The S4 box didn't fit, despite all the internetz information :-p All plumbed in and running like a dream! An absolutely huge difference between this set up and the stock 12A set up. Couldn't be happier at the minute.

The box lined up perfect with the FB mounts, but where the actual gearstick goes (whatever the term for that part is ) was about 2-3 inches too long. Obviously it could work with some cutting of the shell but then it wouldn't have worked with the centre console.

Two and a half weeks later and still loving the 13b. Throttle started sticking a bit on the way up to C&C at the weekend, nothing a bit of WD40 won't sort out. It also threatens to induce heart attacks on anyone elderly who may stand near it when it turns off and backfires, as some folk at C&C can attest to :-p Not sure whats next for it. I've a set of sports springs on it, but want it stiffer, so a set of Tokico Illumina struts might do the trick. I'm tempted to go all out on coilovers, but I'm not sure the outlay will offer much more than the struts will. Obviously I could put it on its if I did go for coilovers, but roads around here aren't very forgiving Other than that, I should probably get an e-fan for it and a gilmer pulley. It's all money though! I need to get my MK3s refurbed too! And I'll leave yas with a cool shot of my FB and an FD at C&C.

Tough choice! These are all pairs, apart from the second (SSR Casablanca 8) and third (Magroads) from the left. Thinking of going for Casablancas all round, or maybe Casablancas on the front and SSR Mk3s on the back. Hmm!

I haven't updated this in awhile. Over the Christmas, I decided this year I'm going to make the FB exactly how I want it, or as close as I can afford for now. When I first came across this FB, what really convinced me to buy it were pics of sorted FBs straight out of Japan. Low, wide wheels, big over-fenders, fender mirrors etc. I put that out of my head after falling in love with the factory lines of the FB, but after 2 years of running it after the resto, I think its time for a change and make it 'mine'. My decision to go down this route was helped when I came across this pair of 13x8 -21 SSR Mk2s. Only way they're going to fit is with big fenders... They would probably fit okay on the rears with some arch-rolling and stretched tyres...but then I came across these beauties on Yahoo JPN Auctions, and just had to import them to complete the set. Awesome spec, at 13x9.5 -32. So, the 8js will be going on the front. I got a set of ZG Flares from Jendosa, might need to go get a wider pair for these badboys. I won't know til they arrive, get some tyres on there and test fit. It's also going to need to get the whole thing sitting right, so I splashed out on some T3 goodies. An early MK1 Elford spoiler came up for sale at a reasonable price. It is made for the SA RX-7, but I'm really excited to see how it will look. It'll definitely be an improvement on the tired, foam stock spoiler. And some obligatory fender mirrors. It'll be a bit of a shame to take of the electric mirrors, but sure, sacrifices need to be made So, that's the plan for the exterior and the suspension. I haven't forgotten about the engine, though. Nice new alu rad arrived, looks to be pretty high quality. I've been lusting after a Gilmer pulley set up for the longest time too, so finally got that done. Can't wait to hear that running Some pretty cool Racing Beat rad pipes And a 16 inch Kenlowe e-fan. So, some cooling upgrades there and should tidy up the engine bay an awful lot. And some ignition goodies in the form of MSD 6a and Blaster 2s. Not sure which set up I'm going to go with here, maybe a wasted spark or just straight upgrade of the factory system, but either way I'm excited That's pretty much it for now. Other than that, I'm looking to get a JDM/USDM rear bumper and centre garnish, a RotaryShack short shifter, driver bucket seat, a smaller steering wheel and possibly a vented hood and front splitter. Also passed the test

Gonna look immense with those hoops on there. I love the wide-arch look on FBs. It's one of the few cars I think genuinely suits fender mirrors, too. Those Gilmer pulleys will whine like a supercharger. Then when you get to about 6500 rpm they start to whistle... I wish I'd gone for a 16" fan on mine but I thought it wouldn't fit so got the 14". There's loads of room. Note to self... measure twice .

I've been casually hunting for a driver bucket seat lately. I wanted a simple and plain Recaro Speed, or a Bride, but for some reason I think Recaro is 'more Mazda' :-p I came across one for sale Thursday and picked it up today. Seem hard to find a clean pair, so I'm happy enough to get just a mint single one for now. Need to get some rails and throw her in.

Yeah, I totally get that about the two seats. I'd prefer two seats, but alot of the cool JDM kids only run one, so I might get extra internet points for only having one :-p
Tough choice, I think I'd like an air dam for mine, but thats one thing I'm really not sure on!
