Hey, I was looking for an Intro forum, guess this is the closest thing First up is my '84 RX7. Originally UK, was pretty rough when I got it bodywise and mechanically, but the engine was absolutely spot on. A full service and the engine doesn't miss a beat - 96k miles, no rebuild yet and no sign of a need of one. After I paid import fees, I got around to the resto. Hit a couple of massive obstacles along the way, but I eventually got roadworthy. Welded, respray, powdercoated the metal trim, fully polybushed and PI springs. Had a great exhaust on it when I picked it up. Here's some photos from the First National Irish Rotary Meet. I've collected a couple of pairs of wheels for it too, might keep the stock wheels though. Next is my '91 Eunos Presso V6, an import MX3 with ~150bhp engine, rather than the UK ~130. I've had it for a couple of years, gone some through major changes with a bunch of MazdaSpeed goodies, coilovers and some other bits and pieces. Engine has been tidied up since the pic above!

Hiya! As I think I said on the FB forum, love the car. Bit jealous of those wheels, tbh. MX-3 is pretty cool, I've always had a soft spot for them. Love that Swiss-watch V6

What a cool pair of cars. Quite different. Is the mx3 a 2 litre?
The FB looks stunning! Very shiny. Are there many FBs in Ireland?

Cool couple of cars! May I ask, why those Irish plates seem to be in a French-style font and colour?

Cheers guys.
At the rotary meet, mine was the only one there. There are another 4 or 5 around, dunno how many are running though!
Yep, the mx is a 1.8. I was going to put a 2.5 200bhp motor into it, but the deal for the engine fell through, so I nought the FB to cheer me up :-D
The plates on the FB are old Irish style, but with a modern reg. The plates on the mx are just standard Irish.
And I'm in Wicklow :-)

There are a few 8s and FDs floating around. I only picked this up last September and only just on the road this month.

Haha, yeah, it was only after you put up your pics that I realised who I was talking to.
I do like the Longchamps. Had a dishier pair, but they wouldn't fit, so I swapped them for the Mesh. Not sure if the combo really works though!

Test fit of the Longchamps and Formula Mesh. Not sure if the combo works. Need beefier rear tyres!

Other than possibly mixing and matching wheels, that is pretty much how it will sit for the foreseeable. I was tempted to butcher the arches, throw on some bolt-on arches and fit massive wheels, but I really like the standard lines of the FB. It'll be put off the road in October for (hopefully) some engine work

This looks really nice! The side looks so much cleaner without the plastic bump strips. I almost think the wheels would look better around the other way - XR4 on the front and mesh on the back?

I thought the same at first, but I really like how it sits. Plus the xr4 are wider and lower offset than the mesh so it would probably look strange with these particular ones!

2 days off a year of ownership of the FB. Feels like it has been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than a year ago that I set down to Galway to have a look at it. One of the driving forces for me to buy the FB was RetroStock #3 last year. I left there knowing that I needed a retro car in my life, and I narrowed the choices down to a Manta or an FB. Delighted with my decision Over the last year, I've been really looking forward to the show season, especially Japfest and RetroStock. They both came and went and I was delighted with how the car has come together.

So, this is how my day ended at the Baltinglass Rally the other week... The culprit. Old, brutally murdered clutch... New, fancy 6puk (and new slave cylnder)... The 6puk has made a massive difference to the gear changes and feels noticeably more powerful. Delighted with it as it's the first 6puk I've had Couple shots from RetroStock...

Holy cow, that clutch plate is properly ruined have to say, I do love the miss-matched wheel look, think your car looks fantastic like that. I always think the acid test of whether a car looks good is if it still looks good going onto a low-loader It's an equation I've applied to mine several times, lol; if kids are pointing as they overtake you on a lap on the M25 at 50mph in a recovery truck, it must be working
