Ah yes, the Volga... "The Volga V12 Coupe is hand-built by a Moscow firm called A:Level. The body styling is straight from the ’50s and finished in black. However, don’t let the styling fool you… the underpinnings and interior are from a BMW 850, and the engine… that too is a BMW V12. CRAZY! The V12, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, produces 380bhp and 406lb ft of torque, and accelerates this heavy mongrel from 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds… that’s no 1950’s mobile!" "This Volga V12 Coupe from 2001 is a "show car", designed by A:level, a Moscow based design bureau, and built by the body shop Auto-Lak, also in Moscow. The car is based on the body of the GAZ Volga 21, rebuilt from 4-door sedan to 2-door coupe, and fitted with a V12 engine from BMW, plus other components from the BMW 850 CSi. It took 17 months to built, and the price is still a secret between the two companies and the client who ordered it. It is said that the only parts that were not altered during the process, are the front headlight chrome rings and the lenses of the rear lights. Officially, the car is registered as a BMW 850CSi with a "rebuilt body"."     Old looks, modern running gear. Win. ;D |

wow, some of you must know me... avtovaz! the volga is simply the most beautiful car in the world. I have posted quite a few pics of this on teh net, and i have a vid to upload tomorow as it used to be on Zsiguli.hu but not now! its one of them, if i wone the lottery, id buy a Volga  |

I'm not a fan of new cars trying to look classic, althouhg they have done a good job. The volgas posted are from the mid 60's. Damn that a-level volga has done the block a couple of hundred times. Company had a feature in the TG mag as well. |
