What have I done! ;D Having taken a bit of a fly I hope they do fit the Triumph and if they do then I guess the Cosmics will be for sale! YES!And this is where I might well need some R-R help. Is there anyone near Frodsham/Runcorn in Cheshire woulwould be able to pick them up and hang on to them for short while assuming the deal all goes through? Oh, and many thanks to Spotted Laurel for digging up and finding out what they are! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Wierd, I just bought a set of the same rims off ebay too. Also a set of five! Until I got mine, I'd not seen this style of rim before and now another set appears! Here's the ones I got... not the mega old school rubber on mine too...

Thanks for the offer Mr B. I'll let you know. RatDat, you obviouisly got a better bargain than me! I'm hoping that whatever mine turn out to be I'll be able to either make similar back for my Cosmics or advertise these new ones much better. This is what Spotted Laurel found for me:

I wasn't the only bidder on the set I got which makes it even stranger that they only made £50. I'd bid a lot more than that and would have been happy to pay more than double so you've still got a bargain there. They are nicer in the flesh than in pictures too... you won't be dissapointed! I didn't know they were sold as BRM wheels. They say Alcan on the inside of the rim. I wanted to use them on my Colt but they stick out to far on the front. Shame as it could have looked like this ... I'll just have to put them on one of my Datsuns instead

Well, thanks to you guys who offered to help but I ended up asking Mr Bo11ox as he was going to be able to bring closer to me too. I owe him a really huge favour now! I picked them up from him yesterday evening at the Herts/Beds meet and I'm dead chuffed - they are superb and in really good condition bearing in mind they are 35 years old. The story goes that the father of the chap I bought them from had a Mk2 Spitfire (1966) from new. These wheels were bought and fitted to it for just a year or so back in 1971. They've been in the garage ever since. The seller still has the Spitfire and is currently doing a 100% factory authentic restoration on it. I can't wait to get some tyres on them and get them on the Herald!
