Those last wheels = YUCK!!! Come on Ramon. Where is your sense of style? This deserves some 13x8 modgies/turbos etc. Then some slam :-) Proper Kiwi style. I do love the colour and its great to see a 70's car in a shade like this..not matt black or some sort of horrid metallic colour.
But please.... ditch them wheels. large modern wheels on old Mazdas. no no no.
Loving that shape. Such sweet cars.

Haha, good to see the replies about the wheels. I'm in no way tied to the latest set up - merely happy that they fit and allow me to roll and possibly even drive if things go well. I have another set of rims on the way - surely to spark further debate.... The thing is, I have a load of 16 inch tyres and it just seems crazy try to flog them and hunt down more. And I'm already low I thought!

Not my style of wheel at all, but at least they aren't 18inch simmons ;-) Hard to find wheels with the correct PCD for an oldskool Mazda in the UK which is a shame.

I've not minded any of the wheels so far - the basket weaves looked good - the five spoke black and silver things, even the original steels - except these ones and I'm really trying to see a positive element in there somewhere but I can't and I normally say nothing if I can't say something nice but I can't this time - they look bloody awful and really spoil the car and I'm not into J-tin but it's a cracking little car and they are calsberg the worst wheels I have ever seen...... Please weigh them in so I don't have to pour bleach in my eyes again

Hmm. The more I look the more I don't like them as well. Yoed brother - modgies ain't happening! It's a look way over used and dropping a grand (NZ) on a setup so that my arch gaps can be further highlighted sounds wrong. However, my bro in law does happen to have a set on a S1 RX7 so for photographic purposes they will be fitted, and pictures will be obtained Most recent acquisition is a set of borbets.... But even before they arrive I'm wanting to sell them... Anyone want a set of 16x7.5 ET20 4x108 Borbets - fresh refurb...

Yeah but its the standing exile joke. Bloody matt even found some and fitted then to the rx3.
Its more about keeping it period cool. Just don't ruin such a cool car like most on ausrotary/flat peak wearing aucklanders do by fitting large wheels.
Imo anything small, wide and dishy will work. Within reason. Period cool man. If you so dare fit monster tach and race seats you will be refused entry into nz and banished to some tesco carpark with nothing but a supply of max power mags to read with all the spotty burberry wearing youth. You have been warned.

Don't answer - found some pictures - now I can see why they are overdone!!! They aren't bleach inducing but if everyone's going down that route where is the fun in that. I agree don't go too large but something with a bit of dish in 15 or 16 would look good in my eyes The five spoke with body coloured centres?

Yeah heaps of dish.
Modgies are a standing joke in nz too...it seemed that it was once compulsory to fit them to your rotary. Sort of like rs 4 spokes on escorts or minilights on minis etc
But ramon will have a tough time finding nice small wheels with the right pcd
