Howdy folks, thought I'd pop this project up to help educate the masses toward rotang love. Sorry for the poor photos - but this is how she came to me.. I tucked her in the shed for a bit and left her till I had the time for the required tlc

Oh man, what a solid looking ride! What are your plans? Thanks dude - my plans are to drive her - sounds simple enough bit she hasn't seen the road in a while. Have a check back in a few mins and I'll get you up to date... I tried some 15x6 Compomotives but decided that they are not the go

So - roll forward a few months and mechanical work in the form of: New ball joints Idler arm bushes Tie rod ends Brake discs Pads Calipers Brake lines renewed front, new copper in rear Full bush kit NOS dampers Custom springs -45mm Then it hits the paint shop..... Paint off and low spots being filled - 99% rust free with only minor repairs required - result! Bonnet suffering from common problem of separating from bracing but being fixed here Still wearing the most recent tax disc with pride Right hand side and rear already in etch primer . Also getting the engine bay and door shuts done. New springs have given it a sweet ride height - this is with 165/80-13's though.

What an amazing find. Can't believe it's fared so well after so long off the road; the previous owner must have stored it really, really well. What's the plan with engine options?

What an amazing find. Can't believe it's fared so well after so long off the road; the previous owner must have stored it really, really well. What's the plan with engine options? She is going to stay true to the rotary and stick with the 12a size, only weighs 900kg odd so 140hp ish is plenty to keep up with the traffic. Stats from back in the day show that these quite often surprised the larger cars and notably were able to knock back the then considered healthy 3l V6 Capri... Noticed your username - a mate and I are currently getting his 20vT back on the road after cracking a ring - GT2860RS... should be cracking 'pissbucket' - laughed far, far too much. Great project, nice to see something obscure. Only subtle if any mods needed on this one! I can only agree with you - she has come down a touch, will be more legggy in the engine department, but retian the same configuration and i'm going free style with the rims. Shiny paint, chrome and vinyl is all I need!

I used to like the whole over the top stretched tyre stuff years back but i prefer the slightly modified OEM look now, much more like it.

It's got too many doors bro Sorry to waffle, but never understood the dislike of four doors, two doors just means it takes twice as long to get people in the back, and four doors don't look any worse! Might weigh more yes, but cant be massively different.

Might weigh more yes, but cant be massively different. Tool is just jealous - 2 x 2 doors don't make a 4 I love a sedan, always have - all my mates having to get out before others could get in just seemed pointless. Don't get me wrong, I love the look of them, but when I got my RX7 - I just took the seats out of the back so no problems there either! Sorted out the scrotobucket problem - not sure if others are having issues, but they are now scrambling image names and for some reason RR don't agree with the format. I have reimported without the scrambling and we are now able to see what I'm on about.. Rear end getting blinged up - a little trim and some lights just transforms it. She is L reg so tax free ;D Managed to grab a new old stock rear bumper and with a little polish has come up a treat. Badges also got a little work over with my missus' nail polish but don't tell her that! The wheels had been grating on me and the 30+year old 165/80-13s no less so - the car just looks a bit sh*t One 4x110 - 4x114 +25 adaptor Allowed me to mount these Lenso rs5 I had laying about 17x7 +38 fits a treat front and rear. Did some test fitting of the front bits after painting the grill nice and black Got plans to dump in the new engine next week, but still have exhaust to sort and the fuel tank which is bound to be in poor shape...still good to make progress though

with more lows and a slightly nicer wheel choice (my opinion only) this will look gorgeous.

What a stunna! if I managed to get this into my bedroom i'd stay in there all week making grunty noises. Gotta respectfully put in a complaint about those wheels though! soz!
