Had a go at making a side exit for it today......
Not realy happy with how it turned out..
The floor is nearly in line with the bottoms of the sills. So doesnt give me much room.. Meaning it comes out at the rear arch at an angle I'm not HUGELY happy with. And closer to the floor than id like...
I'm going to have to cut and turn it very slightly. And mount it with some very solid rubber to prevent it slapping the floor...
Pics when done..
But it sounds better ;D

Hmmmm not sure on this.... Spitfire steering wheel... Cant stand wheels that are out of place in classics.. But not sure if this can get away with being the right era for the standard (assuming this was a factory racer) Need to paint it obviously. But wanted to find out if the splines were the same.. Which they are ;D Will get better pics when ive got room to open the door properly.. Oh and thats the standards horn push in there... As it fits...

Nice to see this one still going Got an email to confirm my parts are on there way now too.. Should see some disc brakes in the next weeks ;D A sorted exhaust and some welding done.. And then a proper thorough service and "leak fix" as its properly marking its spot out there... Then I'm gonna enjoy it this summer ;D

Well i went out there yesterday (in the rain) to try and finish the brakes... Turns out i have the wrong hub so now I'm trying to source ONE type 14 hub.. Realy annoying as i was hoping to get it running/ driving and legal to be able to do some shows and the beaulieu autojumble too.. Think thats going to be on hold untill i can source a hub. That said, I guess i can do some other small things like the exhaust, Some tidying and fix some oil leaks... But the car is still imobile so cant get it to anywhere were welding can be started.

Does that photo show the clearance problem between hub and caliper? I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned in the past on the Club Triumph forum. You'd be fine to tickle a few mm off the rim of the hub with a grinder if that's all it needs.

I was considering removing a small amount, Or even getting my engineer neighbour to spin it on a lathe ... But i think its more than a few MM. I'm going to knock the studs out of it and face it against the one that does fit to see how much larger it is. Strange, realy.. My guess is that its a type 12 hub, As I'm assuming those calipers are smaller? Ill try get a proper pic off my phone. I took a few but not sure how they came out.

Oh and that photo above is the one that does fit... On the side that doesnt, The caliper hits the hub at its closest point in the above pic.. By probably 25mm... So quite a bit in the grand scheme of things...

Phone wont send the pics to the laptop...... And.. I tried to bleed the brakes today.. All went well with no leaks and a nice firm peddle. But...... Both front calipers locked up solid.... Turns out they are pretty fubar.. I pulled the pads out and pumped the pistons out as far as possible. But after a while they jam again.. They are pretty damn rusty even down the piston sides, So definatly need a new set of calipers now.. One step forward and eight back.. But at least these bugs will be ironed out I guess.

It drives again ;D
Only drove it to the garage to empty all the surplus bits from the boot...
But it works...
Runs fine now, Brakes work but need a re-bleed as i did it the one man method first time round..
And i need to fix the exhaust up at the rear since i did the side exit..
So Theres a few things i need to do before driving it any distance realy..
*sump gasket and oil change (well overdue) *fuel filter *welding to the spring hanger (need to remove tank for that) *exhaust *bleed brakes again *temp weld the sill before i get a new pair of sills for it..
