Well I have started to cut rot from drivers side floor and have started to weld new plates in. Rot cut out. Then welded parts in managed to do one plate and dress up the other I have managed to tack but unable to fully weld yet as I dropped something on my auto darking welding lens so have a new welding mask coming.

I have not done too much of late due to no time but I have managed to source a good boot floor and a really good floor at a local scapyard so going over there in week or so to cut out parts.I have been getting my spit sorted out and hoping that will be complete in a couple of weeks then I can really make a start on the floor. I have managed to make a start on the roof panel I have that I'm using as a template to fit vaccum sunroof to my car I have removed the support beams just got to strip roof to skin and use as template. I had a little play with the front wings and they line up quite well but will need some adjustment for a really good fit.

I have not done as much as i would have likes due to no spare time I have had my heart set on removing a mint floor from a car i found ina scrapyard this has turned in too big a job so now just going to cut out parts i need and carry on patching mine. I have had a play with the headlights i picked up from scapyard to see how they line up as i have carried out major repairs to the front really happy how it looked.

Some great work there!
You are MENTAL though, your repairs to the floors are spot on, you should keep that spare floor for the future!!

Been reading this on Pistonheads - as above, replacing the whole floor is mental (but should stop it rusting again for a good few years! . Can't wait to see the finished product.

+1 to dezshearer there, your repairs to the existing floor are perfectly fine, if you decide to replace the entire floor that is gonna be a massive amount of work and you're also risking bending the body!

Thanks for the comments the new floor is nearly stripped and the repairs to it nearly finished I have thought about if the body will move but I belive that with inner sills and sills and the rear boot floor and bulk head not being removed that movement would be reduced

With the current floor in place welding cross members between the pillars should stop the body from twisting when the new floor is welded on.

Yeah may do that as it would not get in the way of fitting new floor

Big difference with that mini is that it looks to have had the inner and outer sills removed for repair but will still prob run a brace hardest bit I feel will be getting the kick up at bulkhead in position with the chassis rails there.
