Here is my project that I started in November last year, I picked up the car and set to work straight away as body work was tatty and could see some rust but that was least of my worries. The front of the car was stripped this exposed that the headlight panel and both innerwings where rotten so removed engine and sorted new parts for repair. I removed the dimma quarter panels and sideskirts so I could check sills and rear arches, rear arches not to bad but will replace, sills rotton so they will be changed. I have cut all rot out of front and am in progress of fitting replacement parts to the front then will make a spit for the car so I can carry on with repairs to sills and underside. Few pics of car when I got it. I started to strip fron end

i guess the condition is indicative of a 24 year old metal car covered in bits of plastic, i feel your pain owning two gte's !
i always thought the 205 got the better end of the gene pool regards dimma kits, i assume it was based on the T16 which was an awesome looking car. (just guessing/asking mind you, because of the detailing to make it look like the rear is a clamshell)

Welding has started after a few leeson from my dad who kindly welded new section onto innerwing I returened home and spent a little while with the welder and did some practice. I have now started to fill up some holes that I used to line up panels and have started to apply weld through primer where needed plan is to have innerwings in position by weekend and welded then cam move onto headlight panel.

my friend built a dimma replica. then bought what he thought was a replica off ebay that had slight end damage, once he started getting further into the car he discovered that was a genuine dimma, so that is currently undergoing a full rebuild. nice car mate, cheers.

Small update after a little practice with the welder I decided I would start and tackle some welding on the car I started with the drivers side inner wing. I wont lie there was much cursing and swearing as I started to blow more holes than doing any welding but after a little patience I felt i was gettng somewhere and the puddle welds started to go really well the but joint I found a little harder but got there in the end just got some pin holes to weld up, All in all I'm really happy with the results as I have never welded before.
