Hi, I'm new & this has probably been covered a thousand times before, but I apologise in advance!
Basically I'm looking at getting a second car, hopefully a Series II Land Rover.
Looking on the 'net I can't find anyone who'll insure me on a classic policy. I'm 20.
Are there any insurers who'll touch me that you know of?

I know my mate used to use adrian flux. He had a classic policy on his 205 gti. I think the policies are banded for the age of car etc but I'm not 100%
Hope this helps

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

"We are currently able to quote for drivers age 21-74" A lot are 25+ & I've seen a couple that are 21+, but none with no age restrictions. I've had a few quotes on normal policies, if it was my only car the quotes are very reasonable. As a second car (no no claims counted basically) it's extortionate. Thanks for the info so far, I'll carry on looking around.

It is a pain as most classic specialists keep their premiums low by automatically excluding the highest risk age group - which is a real pain if that's the group you are still in!

A lot of classic places will insure you - but you have to ring them. I have to say, personally I had no joy with classic places (getting the best value insurance through Norwich Union), alas now I'm forced to go with Adrian Flux on my previous 2 motors due to the levels of modification.
But so far - I've had nothing but excellent service from Adrian Flux - give them a bell!
Best bet is to dig out the yellow pages and just start ringing - it's the only way to find out!

Aon insured me at 22 (4 years ago) for about £60 on a Moggy Minor van (2nd car, 1500 miles, garaged), so might be worth trying them for a quote.

I always use HIC. I've heard a few people have had problems with them, but I have never had one and I've had 5 cars insured with them. Got quoted £250 for a Series 3 the other day and I'm 23

i'm 20 and with footman james for the Toledo which is very cheap, they do insure under 21s on lower powered cars.

Footman James FTW. Also try Firebond.
