Well once i got so far with this one i thought i might as well address everything at once. When this does go back on the road it'll have everything sorted apart from the paint.
Thank you for the kind comments!

Impressive how far you've come with this! Pretty inspiring too, I'm getting my Toledo back soon after months of not seeing it, no idea what condition it's in either...but can't wait to get stuck in on the bodywork! Also, I mighhttt have an early rev counter if you can't sort out the + earth one you've been sent If you're interested I'll look around for it, pretty sure I have one somewhere...

Me too very good stuff and does't seem to go rusty if not used or stored in perfect conditions They don't appear to make it any more! Bought some very recently from my local boc depot? If they don't make it any more I'm going to stock up while they still have it, got a shed load of welding this winter so I'll need it anyway

Woo! Whilst it's a meaningless milestone, putting a car back on its wheels after all that kinda of work just feels so good! If it's 3 weeks to MOT then I'll keep an eye out for lots of exciting updates then

It ought to go for its MoT looking as near to that as possible too, with all the effort you've put in I'm very hopeful for a pass for you.

Woo! Whilst it's a meaningless milestone, putting a car back on its wheels after all that kinda of work just feels so good! If it's 3 weeks to MOT then I'll keep an eye out for lots of exciting updates then I know entirely what you mean. Its about time. It'll be on sprint wheels soon too when the wheel nuts arrive. I'm hoping i make it too, even if i have to roll it looking as ropey as it does now, at least i can use it! It ought to go for its MoT looking as near to that as possible too, with all the effort you've put in I'm very hopeful for a pass for you. Just welding on one side and assembly now, if i work like a madman i should manage it...

Must be a big psychological barrier to get it back on wheels. Try not to rush things and take shortcuts to get it MOT'd though.

There's no shame in driving a car in primer, especially when you've done all the hard work yourself. I'm sure regardless of the yellow/grey two tone combo you'll be continuing your mad man act when you arrive at the MOT in three weeks grinning manicly

Absolutley superb sir...!!!
I have been watching this project very closley indeed and to see it back on a set of wheels is a major, MAJOR milestone... I know that this car will be back on the road very soon and looking ruddy amazing too...!!! Keep on keeping on, we're all rooting for you (and the Dolomite of course!)...
On another note can I please be cheeky and ask the following...?! If you have any pictures of the pasenger side bulkhead area where it meets the windsreen frame and the passenger side door area that'd be great as I'm trying to locate the source of a leak on my Toledo!!! Seeing a bare shell in that specific area would be a huge help if possible at all...

Amazing effort there to get the car to where it is now, it looks like you're so close, hopefully those remaining jobs don't give too much hassle and it'll be back on the road before you know it great stuff!

Sit down, have a cup of tea, put it from your mind. Return to it tomorrow with a more pragmatic brain. It doesn't look too bad in that picture, you may be able to knock it back out with some gentle persuasion, all the trims are intact and I'd guess the reason the bonnet won't open is that it's push back just a smidge too far to release from the mechanism. Some judicious application of hammers and panel wiggling may see this sorted out and it'll be frustrating but it is doable.
Does the bonnet latch release? It looks like it's the leading edge that's catching on the bodywork more than anything
After coming this far with it, you're too close to completion to throw in the towel.

That's a real shame to hear, i've been following this thread for a long time, and it's always difficult to deal with something like this, but as suggested, you've come too far now to give up! good luck getting it sorted
