dikkehemaworst..... yes all the cars are at my house. There's a SIMCA 1200S coupe in the garage and another in the back garden plus a 1956 Aronde Grand Large round the corner.... Also behind the green Espace is my FIAT/SEAT 133 fitted with a 1294cc SIMCA rallye 3 spec engine.. see thread on here 1976 FIAT 133, SIMCA 1294cc. I intend to make some more room by scrapping the two Espaces soon. The 'Simcamper' conversion looks interesting....I remember seeing a picture of one in the past sent to me for our magazine by one of our SIMCA friends from Belgium. Also the back wheels on the white pickup look like ones from a MATRA Bagheera. I always wondered how they would look on an 1100 pickup.

Back on 4 wheels for the first time for years..!!! Just have to finish 'plumbing' new rad and twin DCNF carbs and fix a bit of 'dodgy' wiring and it should be time to fire up.

# After finding an elusive spark and redoing a few corroded connections, it fired up. Runs and starts OK but some fine tuning needed along with various joints/ clamps on the Exhaust rethinking. Clutch and gearchange seem OK. Just need brakes bleeding for a few 'test runs'...up & down the drive..!!! Quick check of electrics in general has shown up what you'd expect on a french vehicle that's been standing for many years..... lots of work to get power through to the new lamps I've fitted. Mick

The grille is off a MATRA Rancho (which was based on the SIMCA 1100 pickup)and I decided it suited the pickup better than the original 1100 alloy multi horizontal bar 3 piece affair. I'll no doubt have comments from the 'originality freaks' in the SIMCA Club with the pug GTi seats, slot mags, grille and twin carb Bagheera engine but it's mine and that's how I want it..! Hoping to get it to a number of local events, Motornutz, Ashover and, if everything works OK will venture further...maybe the Retro Rides Gathering... The engine is currently a bit rattly but I suppose it's living up to the SIMCA/Talbot image.

The grille looks like it belongs there, and now you've told me where it's from I can see that. Tempted to paint the headlight bezels satin black to match? I wonder if it's possible to lose a little bit of arch gap at the front too? Those slots look pretty good on the little truck.

I might try dropping it a bit at the front. The back end is higher since I fitted some load leveller coil over towing shocks. It does get used to carry loads occasionally. The 1100 has adjustable torsion bars all round. When I got it, It had been adjusted to the current height...probably due to at least one of the previous 10 owners being into farming. Things like the headlamp bezels are the sort of thing I'll get to experiment with.... easy as the 1100 shares lamps etc with the 1000 range so I've loads of parts. The dark blue twin carb SIMCA 1100 hatch in the previous photo is now mine. It came to me from my brother who needs the space as he's nearly finished restoring a 1200S Bertone Coupe (We now have two in the Ward family..!!) which will join his MATRA-SIMCA Bagheera and his Honda powered SIMCA 1100. My next priority is finishing my 1200S coupe and completing the repair work on my 1000 Rallye 2 after its accident.

It's the sideways slope on our drive. It appears flat until a car is parked there. I've often questioned the suspension on some of my cars parked on the drive. Once on a properly horizontal surface they look perfectly OK.

That is looking superb...!!!
You've put so much time and effort into this machine and I'm sure it'll thank you for it by being something really very special indeed...
Top job sir!

I love shows where they park people up randomly, you really get to appreciate the differences between cars and that little line up is super. Makes the pick up look like a gruff little terrier.
