I've only just uploaded my bug build pics. So I thought I'd do a little build thread. It was a few years ago now and I'm well into the next build but that can wait for another day . This is what it looked like when I went to see it in Yovil It was an unfinished project that had had all (ish) the welding done so needed all the body work and screwing together!! The plan was to make nice cheap daily with a 1600 and mostly original bits ......but it soon snowballed into a fairly hardcore street racer sort of thing. When I got in back I whipped off the body and got stuck in The pan was a bit brown but really solid and only needed a couple of small holes sorting I got it blasted and squirted on some red oxide and shiny black It got built up with a rancho street comp box with SAW raceaxles, 4" narrow beam,CB wide 5 front disks The photos ain't the best quality because they were take on my old 1mp camera ( told you it was a few years ago!)

Then on to build up. (super bad pic) bit off power I freestyed the wiring loom because I knew I'd need a few extra wires for the planed motor and stuff. The interior is porsche tombstones which I got recovered in burgandy leather which the back seat to match .The carpet is a bit of a "spirit of the 50's " set ..only the mats though. The head liner was done at Burnard Newbury's are is really quite special, More pics of that latter. Next the donk!!!!

I went overboard with the motor really. The long block was built a State Side Tuning is morton in marsh which is only down the road from me . I've only got this pic of it before the bits and bob went on : Then I dry built it with all the goodies I'd spent years collecting Here it is in all it glory: The spec is : autolinear ally case cb 84mm crank AA 94mm piston/liners Cb wedge port heads 37.5 and 44mm valves web cam 84b cam 48ida webbers ful msd ignition system CSP Python exhaust 48mm I think. It tuned at Bradleys garage in shipton under wychwood on their rolling road and made 160bhp ...plenty good enough for a 13.6 quarter with curse word tyres. I've since got some 215/65 15 M&H race masters so should see a bit of and improvement. This is me at the pod:

Had a nightmare!!! I had to have longer studs on the front brakes for the new wheels so I took the front hub assembly to bits ( CB wide5 ) and tried to pull them through the ally carriers and it bloody cracked I thought I was going to have to buy a whole new kit to get the ally hub bit but my local engineering shop thinks he can grind it out and tig it up with his monster tig ...we'll see. Here she is today ..... booo!
