If I remember rightly it was heading through to what is normally "Racer Camping", the road up the side of the pits - you fork left instead of right into the pit area, out to under where the wind turbines now are. I must have more pics of it, I'll go looking!

I hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread, I'll keep it very short. A combination of looking for some old pics for another thread and revisiting this one it got me thinking. What was the last pre 70's Beetle I owned ( there have been a few  ) I am fairly sure it was this 1965 one   please pm me if it is a problem and I'll delete it |

so as a result of speaking to the granddaughter of the original owner (cheers DarrenW) she mentioned it had been in Heatbeat !!! It took me a while but I found it !! Series 1 episode 9 I couple of dodgy fellas getting moody cars resprayed are bezzing about in it , it's in a few times if you can be bothered to watch it .!   How cool is that !!! buzzing . |

I also found out it was in a museum in Yorkshire called the Keighley Car Museum for a number of years !! and they auctioned it in 1995 at Christies for £800 I can't find any photos online from the museum. |
