Must confess that I'm surprised at the enthusiasm for these Pissrats. My stepdad bought an H reg one (GL?) new, and it was only disposed within the last year (failed the MOT & the bill was going to be about £300 / £400). I really hated that car as it had the most uncomfortable seats that I have ever sat in - more than 1/2 hour & my legs would be aching like crazy The GTs, with the black lower body cladding, do look smart though, esp that red one!

I think thats a case of the buyer getting hold of a calculator, and adding up the cost of all the bits and bobs he's added, plus the price of the car when he bought it a few years back.
Saying that though, it does look very cool, wheels are floggable-onable, and it has leather, which is nice.

Mine is in the background in this photo I appear to have sorted the fan not coming on with a spare rad switch I had lying around. I'm off down the off licence in it in a bit ;D

Quite a few I've spied seem to have leather, including a black one with tan leather - nice!! didn't realise it was pretty much the same dash as the Corrado used too.
all in all I reckon I'd buy one of those over a Goof GTI, pocket the spare cash and drive everywhere (including on holiday with the family) grinning like a fool! I assume the "GT16"s i see advertised are the 16v version, are they the two litre jobbies?

They did a 1.8 and 2.0 16 valve IIRC. I don't think either will disapoint if it's a good one

Yep I nearly killed it today steam cleaning all the coolent and rust coloured curse word off the engine bay though - it wouldn't charge or idle until it had dried out! I've done loads of cars before and never had one react badly, although I know others have. It was a bit of a pain cus I couldn't spend as much time blasting it as I'd have liked as I was a bit worried about doing the electrics permanent damage. Can I borrow your teardrops then fella?

My camera is so bobbar it won't take decent photos in the dark, but I've tried anyway The engine bay is a whole lot cleaner than it was, although the flash has made the bits I've missed a lot more obvious Still, it's not all brown like it was on Saturday Yes, it looks like a minicab... Unbelievably poor night time photo action:
