I'm very tempted to leave the paint as is but not sure yet, I'm not going to touch the body until i have it driving and stoping again. I'm putting a front panal on it so if i were to leave it ratty i could blast that with red lead to make it look right.
don't know of any other caddys at the moment but my mate owns a VW breakers so if any pas through will let you know.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that has the potential to be the best Caddy I've ever seen. The custom/euro look has been done to death on them. If you're going with those rims you've got on the back, you may well be onto a winner. Keep us posted!

haha looks sweet, I'm getting fed up with the VW scene at the mo as i havent seen anything original come out of it for ages, but this has potential to start a whole new crazy.......

The paint has to stay! (pushy lot ain't we!) ;D Just a bit lol I'm hopless at making my mind up first it was going Black with Purple sparkle but thinking thats too modern, then just Black then Green then Brown then Rat. Will need to decide before Christmas because i would paint the engine bay on the holidays. Thanks of the comments guys ;D

i'd still paint the engine bay
keep the essentials and the unseen really clean and tidy - just have the exterior looking naturally used

What color do you think would be a safe choice? I have Gloss Black at the moment but have seen some engine bays painted Gray which i thought looked ok.

I haven't been lurking long - a couple of days - but I should still show myself, I suppose. I didn't buy it thinking I was being retro - I bought it 'coz it was the first car I saw in a magazine (when I was about 12) that made me read and re-read the article until it got so tatty my Mum threw it away for the bacterial safety of the family. And now, I have a lot of trouble imagining ever being without it As an extra, it is (completely without my knowledge until someone showed me) Miss June 2007: Carl
