Just joined...linked here from autoshite.....
42, but still steadfastly refusing to grow up, part of service crew for a rally team running an '82 Talbot Sunbeam packing 230bhp of dry-sumped XE, all of us run what could be described as 'different' motors (I drive a Nissan-powered Range Rover.....hardly earth-shattering, but a solid old-school mud plugging tank).
Looking forward to getting involved.

It's in the Gung-Ho Rally Team HQ right now, just finishing off being rebuilt (better...stronger...faster..redder ;D), will take some decent pics as soon as it's all finished. Meanwhile, here's my tank..... Brian

Welcome Brian and don't forget Two Lane Blacktop tonight at 12.55 on Film 4.(I saw the Chevy you posted on the Oooofff thread). The greatest car film EVER. Thanks for that, I will definitely stay up, even though Ive seen it so many times (taped it off BBC in about 1985) I know the dialogue off by heart! Rangey's got an RD28T six-pot turbodiesel out a late 80's-ish Patrol. Near identical power/torque as a V8, but anything from 27 to 34 mpg depending on how heavy the right boot is. Result! Even if the gorgeous V8 noise is missing.....having said that she sounds like a big Cummins when you let her have it Cheers guys, I'm loving it already. Brian

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Welcome along! Looks like you'll fit right in here ;D Yayyyy....Newquay lad!! Veteran of several RTTS's back in the early 90's...in fact the above-mentioned Dave runs a '58 100E which STILL has the '94 RTTS sticker in the windscreen. Back then it was bone stock with sidevalve and crossplies, now it's running a 1700 X-flow, Cortina box, 105E axle and big 'n' little slot mags, but all the rest's original, steering wheel, vinyl deckchairs, paint, rust......I'll have to get the old pics scanned, if anyone remembers that far back I was in the infamous 'Beaver Lodge' caravan at Trevelgue in 1993......
