'Light showers' the weather said. What it didn't say was heavy rain for 20mins+ right slap bang in the middle of the day when the track had just been got ready after earlier periods of dampness. Most racers gave up and went home, I guess having been there and got in a number of runs on the Saturday. Not much to do other than look about the quiet trade stalls and pits. I bought a book, Paul bought some alcohol.l A few, notably the most excellent Wild Bunch and the Gasser Circus, stuck it out and at around 3pm the track was once again ready to receive them. So at least we got to see a small amount of racing in the hour or so before we had to head for home...
There was a small display of old drag bikes and this was a great bit of engineering. Two engines, two 2" SUs, two Shorrock superchargers.
Flathead rail was spot on.
This Ford wagon was super cool.
A couple of historic stock cars in attendance too. Shame they didn't make an impromptu muddy oval display during the rain.
'Agricultural' interior.
Shopping car.
Hey, what! Cars in the fire up road!
*wishes they'd move that fence
Bikers put on a good show too.
Favourite picture of the day was almost the last one I took.
