I've been at the scanner again....
These photos were taken on a holiday to Boston and surrounding states about 10 years ago. Thought I'd share.
Snapped this as it turned the corner in Boston. Not sure what it is but was probably a bit newer then - looks pretty retro now!
I found the numebr of a hot rod shop on the outskirts of the city so I rang the guy up and he invited us down for a look. Didn't know what to expect and was somewhat blown away! Turns out it was a proper old school place and a he's a well known guy in the north western scene.
This was his fridge in the shop.
He took us out to another building which was his "Merc" garage. There were three cars under covers which he removed to reveal...
...the frickin' Jade Idol!
In another building was the original Rod & Custom magazine vee-dub T bucket and this 54 Ford with cool six pot motor.
Then while out and about we came across this junk shop type place with loads of car stuff lying around.
Inside the building was this 40 Merc convertible - note severe chopped screen frame and fender skirts. There was some very old striping on the bonnet too.
The one day I took a road trip on my own. Drove about 150 miles each way to visit Total Performance. They gave me a tour too but I wasn't bold enough to take photos inside.
On my way there and back I saw some cool stuff at the side of the road so took a few snaps.
This 56 was an old drag/street hero by the looks of the radiused rear arches
Then driving around on other days came acrosss more cool stuff.
You clearly don't need to be in California to find this stuff lying around! Hope you enjoyed.
