Am I only the person who thinks License to Kill (Timothy Dalton, IMO the best ever bond ) hell yesh! finally someone agrees! love most of the car chases. hate the corkscrew (cuz of the noise, and R.M. [imo worst Bond evAr]) the red esprit in FYEO? is probably the nicest but gets annoyingly ruined. and then isnt it used at the start of the one NSNA was based on? mach 1 was it? in OHMSS, and if you want to see me jumping up and down like a loony at 2 sightings of an orange mk1 estelle well its gotta be the living daylights

Am I only the person who thinks License to Kill (Timothy Dalton, IMO the best ever bond ) hell yesh! finally someone agrees! And another! Dalton played Bond as Fleming originally wrote the character. Of all the later Bond films that owe nothing (except possibly the title) to the books, License to Kill is by far the closest in ethos & style to Fleming.

Am I only the person who thinks that the chase in License to Kill (Timothy Dalton, IMO the best ever bond ) involving petrol tankers and a Maserati Quattroporte is the best ever bond chase? I mean a tanker on two wheels how cool is that? I hope so!! That scene really annoys the hell out of me... 100% normal articulated truck...But wait! because james bond is in it, it can now F***ing wheeie!! and not in the normal way but with a pivoting chassis FFS!! If the truck had been made by Q as a special vehicle then maybe, just maybe they could have got away with it but as it was supposed to be a standard truck it's just 600976% gash. Totaly the worst chase ever in any film, apart from when the nanobots in Terminator 3 take control of the cars and steer them even though steering is 100% mechanical..

My fave Bond car is the (unique?) Toyota 2000GT convertible, but I don't remember it being in a chase. I loved the Esprit chase best of all ;D To balance my neg comment. I completly agree with the 2000GT from you only live twice, very nice Prince gloria..... ...Subaru 360 and..... a Toyota CROWN were also in you only live twice

Ford 'Mundano' in latest bond film is going to be NEW shape which won't be released until about 3 months after appearing in film. This 'Ford' propaganda was done exactly the same way 30 years ago in the spy who loved me in 1976 with the 'NEW' Taunus (MK 4 Cortina shape) again 3 months before car appeared for sale.

(Timothy Dalton, IMO the best ever bond ) I met him once,'round Ivan's house(Volksworld's Ed) he was doing some theater thing,as Ivan's dad was the bloke that put on productions in the west end,new York etc. Anyways,it was just after License to kill had come out and he'd quit the Bond thing.Being slightly in awe of meeting James Bond in the flesh,so to speak.I complimented him on being the most authentic Bond IMO. He looked at me as if I'd just grabbed him by the cock,Glared at me and buggered off! Ivan's old man said he'd hated doing the role and was more at home treading the boards. After that, he kinda slipped down my "best ever 007" list ;D

The bit in For your eyes only where the upside down black Peugeot 504 gets clipped by the 2CV and starts spinning round is the most hilarious thing ever, that shot inside the car of those cheesy bad guys, - there was a really sweaty guy, a guy with a tache and Dark glasses, a stubbly guy, all panicking and shouting indecipherable expletives while rotating through 360 degrees AND being upside down made this into a scene to be watched again and again!

What was the one with a Renner 11 in it? It made me want a Matchbox R11 as a kid... I suppose I've always liked curse word cars! ;D

Best Bond chase sequence, the Esprit in The Spy Who Loved Me ! Closely followed by the 2CV in For Your Eyes Only. I love Bond films, after all whats not to like ? Cars, girls, chases, gadgets and some of the most fiendish (and hilariously camp) villains ever to appear on screen ! As for the best Bond ... I always say Roger Moore, as he was Bond when I was a nipper. I always thought Dalton was quite good too. The Living Daylights is a damn good film. As for the cars appearing on screen prior to release, they did the same thing with some other items in Bond films too, notably the worlds first ever jet-ski in The Spy Who Loved Me.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Thinking about that chase when the car gets split in half the fuel tank would have been left behind? So it should have run out of gas about five seconds afterwards That's got to be nearly as stupid as a standard truck doing wheelies Also if you think the wheelie is stupid what about the bit when the brake lines on the truck get slashed and instead of the truck coming to a halt (truck brakes are held off by air pressure not pushed on) straight away instead it just gets faster and there is a comedy moment with Bond pumping the brake pedal You always have to suspend disbelief when watching a bond movie, I kind of hate the way you know he is never going to die Ps found a youtube vid compilation of Bond Bloopers here

That's exactly my point... I can suspend belief when there is reason to i.e when things have been "Qed" but when things just look completly wrong I feel totaly let down. I've just watched the origional "Gone in 60 seconds" again and the realisum is superb, excellant car chase, loads of action and no over the top explosions or jumps. The remake on the otherhand has that really lame extended jump on the bridge, If I suspend belief without an explanation as to how something has been done I'm just letting down my intelligent side and letting down the film makers that haven't dumbed down to the masses "see you Billy"

Thinking about that chase when the car gets split in half the fuel tank would have been left behind? So it should have run out of gas about five seconds afterwards IIRC, once the car is split in two, it doesnt travel that far before it comes to a graceful halt on the pavement beside the River Seine. As a sidenote, the 'Silicone Valley' mine is actually the Amberley Working Museum in West Sussex. Pffft, who needs California ? ;D Also, with regard to Gone in 60 Seconds, much as I love the original (the remake shouldnt have used the name IMO, much like the 'Taxi' remake) there were several scenes where the car used for a stunt quite is quite clearly no longer driveable, yet in the next scene carries on as if no damage was incurred. This is often *very* apparent in 70's car chase films, to the point where (in Smokey & The Bandit for example) the model of car used in a crash scene is totally different in the next scene ! *geek mode off* ;D

Transporter 2 tested my believability, the stuff he 'did' in that Audi still entertaining. So is XXX gonna be the new James bond or is James Bond gonna live forever? Roger Moore FTW, he was on Paul O Grady last night* *On his show!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

So is XXX gonna be the new James bond or is James Bond gonna live forever? XXX ? Utter c*ck IMO. Yet another bland 'action' film from Hollywood short on substance, but big on budget. James Bond, despite no longer using original Fleming stories, is at least well written/acted and you can follow the characters and history. In short, a very predictable and 'right on' offering from the US of A ... rap music abounds, a black main character who is 'just misunderstood' really, special effects to mask the lack of plot ... plus there are only so many 'X puns' I can tolerate (Xtreme Skillz etc) in one sitting.
