I actually liked the package on Bond car chases. I'd forgotten all about the Alpine in Dr No, ace car! They got the top 5 bond chases all wrong of course as all the modern ones are effect crazzee w**k fests
MY top 5 bond chases
1. Spy Who Loved Me - Lotus v Cortinas and chopper 2. Octopussy - Alfa GTV 3. Never sat Never - 5 Turbo 2 4. For Your eyes - 2CV 5. Goldfinger - crashing aston martin
any one got a problem with those?

The one where the Reno chopped in half! Even that recent Icey one was entertaining.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Best one for me,was the "corkscrew" jump across the river in I think was an AMC Matador?not sure which film it was but there was also a london bus in it that lost its roof.

It was an AMC Hornet. The effects guys used a (then very powerful) UNIVAC computer to compute the trajectory of teh car in the spin jump as it was though to be aero dynamically impossible! Take that you cgi nerds!

For the corkscrew jump didn't the car have to approach the jump at a right angle to it and turn as it hit it?

The bus vs bridge was Live & Let Die - the AMC corkscrew jump was in The Man With The Golden Gun For those who haven't already read them, I strongly recommend the books

Am I only the person who thinks that the chase in License to Kill (Timothy Dalton, IMO the best ever bond ) involving petrol tankers and a Maserati Quattroporte is the best ever bond chase? I mean a tanker on two wheels how cool is that?

I agree with all of 104ZS`s choices, but I must point out that in The spy who loved me it was a Taunus, not a Cortina! yeah same car with a different badge, so what, but if the only thing I`m anally retentive about is 70s Fords (which it is) then I`m not worried!
Not much of a chase, but the bit in Goldfinger where the White `64 T-Bird is tailing the Black `64 Lincoln is one my favourite bits in a film, two of the most stylish cars ever and the bit where the T-Bird locks up all 4 wheels at 5mph is just ace for some reason. Obviously the bit where the Lincoln gets crushed makes me sick to my stomach. It was a real Continental they used as well. I like the Tanker chase in License to kill and it was nice that the Quattroporte emerged unscathed, I was convinced it was gonna go under the tanker and get crumpled up like a piece of tinfoil and blow up and I was relieved when he just dumped it at the side of the road. By the way Scaramangas car in Golden gun was a Matador, the one that turned into an unconvincing plane.

Yes, as featured in this rather nonsensical advert! (well, it's the Focus featured here?) but I think you're right in saying its the Mundano in the film

My fave Bond car is the (unique?) Toyota 2000GT convertible, but I don't remember it being in a chase. I loved the Esprit chase best of all ;D

Think the 2000GT was in a brief chase with a CROWN that got picked up by a helicopter and dropped in the sea! Just thought, what about the Mach 1 Mustang in Diamonds are Forever? And just before that when he nicks an unrealistic looking Moon Buggy and they unwisely go after him across the sand dunes in 2 Ford LTDs.

Regarding the Toyota 2000 I think I read that there were only 2 convertibles made and quite a few Coupes.
