Well you got it home ok then. I am glad its gone to someone thatwill be able to do it some justice, i did originally intend on some sort of resto job but i havent the room. I will be trying to keep track of the progress of it now its in your hands. I will definatly be at the 1st show you take it to once its finshed and looking very J-cool and totally RR! Enjoy the ownership i certainly did used it almost everyday since May this year. (you will get used to the choke, took me a while to fathom it out, but got there in the end)

Ta Hatsu, just pleased you sold me it! I can't wait for tomorrow so I can get stuck in. Will service it in a few weeks too. When can I come for a ride in the taxi Depends how far you're going at this time of night! It's going to cost you at least £20!

Beaded seat cover and a silver tissue box FTW That rocks, hard. I love all the period touches like the original AM radio (although the advert Darren posted lists a FM unit as a feature, hmmmm!) and those pressed ally plates are fantastic. good purchase. the milkshake can wait.

Yep I was expecting an FM unit too - have figured it out. This is a prefacelift model which is MEGA rare (the prefacelift get mirrors mounted to the door panel and a different grille) But the prefacelift only give you an FM radio on the LGX luxury model (electric windows, sofa chairs for seats), whereas the LE gets an AM, and the LC gets nowt and likes it. Know your place, vinyl-seated scumbags! Anyway I've given it a bit of a wash and been getting rid of tar marks etc. Used a load of "Back to Black" too to un-grey the bumpers. Daihatsu sandwich. Rear bumper has come up lovely now! Better interior pic, need a gaiter to finish off the gearstick. Also could do with a vacuum, suppose I'll do that soon. Lovely seats!! Pretty plush in the back, you get your own ashtray too. Thanks for the comments, I love driving this car. I've had nothing but compliments from people too, the old bloke down the road came over and said he loves the colour of it and "Oooh they don't make them like that anymore" in reference to the interior fabrics. When I drive it about people stare at it more than the Mira which is saying something. Style!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Hey Tetsujin I'm sure you know but for those who don't, the Charmant is basically a modified KE70 Corolla, same mechanicals, but with a 5 speed box. Seems the wheel arches are different though which is a shame as I could do with new rears. They're not too far gone to fix though really, will get them sorted quickly. Wish I had a big aerial like that on the front, mine is snapped off. Love the colour too! What's happening with the engine, 4AGE still? I hope to have a set of SSR Mesh wheels ready for the RR07 show, get yours over there and park it next to mine, we can be the minicab gang!
And thanks again for all the compliments, I'll not let you lot down! I've wanted one of these for yonks and it has absolutely surpassed my expectations. I'll do some scans of the best bits of the manual in a bit.

Hi Hurst Yeah, thats why I put mine up as they are sort of like Cousins rather than brother. (share the same DNA but look different! ) Mine is still getting the 4age treatment and that. I'm just starting to put the ae86 running gear all on this wekk once I remove it from the donar car! Should be good! Liking your too, wish my interior was a 'plush' as that, mine is a little less 'snazzy' as yours!

So That means they handle mint? Win! I imagine sorted it will be like the MR2 just a bit bigger and easier spins from the back wheels.
Did you draw up your Signature? cartoons are ace.
