Hello Retro Rides and how are you doing today! Today I bought two things!! One of those chocolate milkshakes for 99p from a "Moto" services. And..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... BIG thanks to member Hatsu who I bought it off! Top marks, it's ace! Drives lovely on the motorway too (and I think I got the hang of the whole choke thing now! Excellent) and no problems at all with it. Best car ever! The car only has 45K on it and the engine feels smooth and powerful, you'd be surprised how torquey it is for a 1.3 and it makes a nice noise too! So, plans in a bit more detail: Boring StuffSort out the rust General tidying up Some filler and paint to sort a few little dents (retaining the stunning "Metallic Beige" as it has its own sort of 80s charm) More Exciting StuffSSR Mesh Wheels KE70 Corolla Bonnet Mirrors New Suspension Stainless Exhaust Tune up the Toyota 4K 1.3 a bit Maybe later on put a Toyota 4-AGE 20V in, or turbo the 4K! When I finish I want to end up with something like this (but beige) - Prepare to see it at Retro Rides 2007!

Sweet, glad you got it back in one piece ;D Really does look very tidy....so happy you got it ;D Choke, just use it when it's cold outside, or if it's being a bit hesitant to start...should only need about a half choke to get it running from standing then push it in when it's warmed up a bit...

The milkshake was one of those where it comes in the old bottles, Superlight or something. Has the advantage of being able to be stored at room temperature for long periods so suits retailers who don't have massive fridge space. Certainly not as good as the benchmark, Yazoo, but better than Nesquik which has really gone downhill over the last few years. The last time I bought Nesquik it had fun tips for amusement parks on the back which is shocking for a serious dairy product - the traditionalists (like me) are furious.
It's dark now but I'm going to give it a really good wash tomorrow, I've been shining up the chrome and removing some tar stains but not really had time to do much before it got dark.
Oh yeah the radio is an AM-only "National" (old Panasonic) brand one with no tape deck, superb!

Ta everyone! I love this car, it suits me down to the ground! The interior is a wonder to behold, it is a mixture of beige and brown! The seats are surprisingly comfy too, even though they're not the sofa-like ones with buttons on like the LGX. Pick your radio station! Misson control. Charmant at night. New discovery - if you turn the lights to the mysterious 4th option, you get PARKING LIGHTS!! Also the manual is brilliant, some nice Engrish to be found and some handy tips. Transcript: PARTICULAR ATTENTION MUST BE PAID AS TO SAFE DRIVINGA good driver does not mean a person who uses high technique in his drivings, but refers to a person who pays particular attention to ensure a safe driving. One of the previous owners (probably the old gent who owned it first) has handily written in pencil extra info and interpretations of what the manual says (it isn't particularly clear sometimes). Also on the vehicle specifications page has converted the dimensions of the car listed in mm to feet and inches! There's a funny bit where it says recommended upshift/downshift points so it's like 11mph 1st -> 2nd etc. But for 4th -> 5th it says "Not Recommended" and a question mark is pencilled in next to it - I agree.
