I got this idea from the late great Popular practical classics mag. What car have you been building in your head today? I'll start it off, today I have been building a K10 Nissan Micra. Matt black paint, a set of those cool black 4 spoke Rays wheels with anodised red rim and slam it a few inches! Cost=£Pennies Hmmm. Might get busy with Photoshop later!

Early 1500FWD shell, (lacking in trim), stripped interior, seam welded shell, lowered, Sprint alloys, and a ~250BHP turbo rotary driving a 5 speed manual box, open rear diff, on black weller steels.....few nice buckets, some interior tweaks... My other preferred version of this is a 302 or high-po 3.5 RV8 with the manifolds exiting in the front wheel wells.... And about one million others ;D Bit like that Would just be pure evil....side exit, too, for flames bonus.

An early VG40 Toyota Century but with the 5.0 V12 off the newer model, twin turbos, SUPER SLAM and little but deep dish SSR Mesh wheels. And a cheese and pickle sarnie in the glovebox.

loads astuff. Uusally I see something with potential, or even with no potential, either for sale, or on the road, or someone mentions it. Then I've built it.
A mate rang me to tell me his sister in law has lost her husband and wants to sell his old Ford Mustang "silver, 5 litre, N reg". Which I assumed to be a Mustang II. So its a challenge as no good ever came of a M2, but I thought slammed low, black alloys (or NASCAR steelies), MOPAR 6 pack hood scoop, hot 302, shift kitted C4, black King Cobra stripe set (maybe not the full set!), tints, cage, buckets...
That was the last one I thought of.

My mates ratty blue 4 door mk1 escort slammed on the alloys off my fiesta with the area below the waistline painted in red lead to hide our sill repairs, Then fit the screamer 1300 x-flow from my old escort and the type 9 box + bilstein capri struts i have sitting in my workshop. Interior remains stock Or is that too specific?

I've always wanted to do a mid sixties swap a Jeep 4.0 L into a mid sixties Rambler Coupe or Estate complete with a T5 to back it up. It's the same engine family as the stock Rambler six so it should bolt in pretty easily. And 180-190 HP stock. Alternatively an early Javelin would be a great candidate for this swap.

I done this a few months back, before it was even suggested. For some reason I chose a citroen c2(I hate them normally), and I did a virtual with the results. Abit new & modern though.

I have several projects in my head. A Skoda Estelle 130GL with a Rapid RiC engine (lower compression), with quad bike throttle bodies (in body injectors), a plenum, small turbo and small supercharger, a group B exhaust and an Evo Body kit (Hide the Intercooler in one of the "pods" in the rear arch). The Supercharger will have a mag clutch like an aicon compressor to be either revs or boost controlled to cover spool up using either the tach signal to the megasquirt, or a hobbes switch measuring manifold pressure.
Car would be simple standard lowered, with wide 15" beetle rims with mooncaps and satin black paint and a "leadsled" style grille made from bumper over riders. It would of course have a set of Saab 9000 Electric recaros in the front, and a set of adapted Saab 9000 Aero rear seats. Interior would be deep carpet, carbon and brushed alloy with leccy windows and aircon/heat and a CarPC based entertainment system (music, NAV, mapping of engine, monitoring of engine).
Other one is supercharged S Type Jag with Nitrous from the 60's with all the chrome inlcuding the bumpers replaced with genuine (not wrapped) carbon fibre replacements, and 18" Carbon rims and limo black windows with airbag suspension, and mirror black paint so deep you can comb your hair in the reflection. Interior would be the blackest leather, wilton carpet and mahogany wood trim.

Haha cool I love this sort of thing... Yesterday I was planning my ultimate Fairlady Z drag weapon... take one S30 Z shell, tub rear end, 4 link setup with a meaty live rear end, G-force air shifter box, tube front end, all motovated by an insanely angry L31 stroker motor, running on OER 50mm throttle bodies, none of this turbo rubbish. Sit on Weld draglites front and rear, oh oh, and add a G-nose.... Man, the cars I build in my head are always gonna be out of reach

I used to ahve a thing for '34 Fords. After seeing California Kid, The Eliminator Videos and the "34 Corner" plastic 34 that appeared in Street machine running a Jag V12. I wanted to build something big and wide and full fendered and flat low like an F1 car instead nose down like a dragster. And as with all my fantasy cars, it had to be Black. Other details were sketchy except it would have a mahoosive engine, and lots, lots of cylinders Well I was about 14 when this one was planned.

Oh....I'd love to build a De Tomaso Pantera too, in metallic black, over subtle black with polish detailed alloys......lots of modern touches to the interior like a heads up display and a brand new Ford GT500 engine and uprated powertrain. Hrrrnnngggggggggg..... I think I'd prefer to do it to a non-GTS tho.. Oh god, that's exactly what I want....... It'd have N20, traction control, ESP, ABS, everything modern I could integrate into it so it could utterly devestate anything that dared challenge it. A rolling bed of old mixed with new Oh yea.... Check it!

A zil volga, with a small block chevvy or a something similar and a full 750 interior transplant.
*drools*
Perhaps a zhiguli with a twin charged zetec, no bumpers, jet black and slammed on anthracite MO's.
you get the pattern.

Well thanks guys! I had an idea for a good thread, I had a good idea for a car then everyone here came up with better 'in your head' cars and made my Micra idea look sh*te!
Only joking! Today I have been building a Fiat 126 GTO with red paint, MR2 turbocharged engine,5 spoke alloys and a Prancing horse badge on the front!
