i'm planning to do another imp, in a period red, stripped right out with a cage, seriously low on race suspension with discs etc.sitting on some banded steels with hubcaps.rear cage tied in to the engine a frame.lightweight doors, grp bonnet and boot, perspex windows,no underseal or soundproofing, two period buckets with harnesses and a few extra dials.plan is to leave all the badges and exterior trim in place to fool people into thinking 'oh its just an imp' then watch me fly right by ;D

Oh nooo! I have so many cool (weird) projects in my head it's untrue! One in particular though would be a Mk1 Marina saloon in white, gotta be white; But with these wheels/trims and a body colour grille insert, like this; The car would be pretty much put together thus - IRS, coilovers all round, NASP Rover T16 engine on throttle bodies, R380 5spd 'box, slammed on the deck, standard chrome wheel trims and hubcaps retained on wide steels with sticky Yoko rubber, stock interior, with maybe just a motalita steering button-er wheel! no external mods at all apart from the lowering, yes ta! cgi.ebay.co.uk/MORRIS-MARINA-1-8-TC-WHITE_W0QQitemZ110045920578QQihZ001QQcategoryZ31361QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I have no room/money

Mk1 (or Mk2) Scirocco with a Audi V8... in the middle.
I have cunning plans and some pertinent measurements... it will be done.
Oh yes, it will be done...

kerbsidemotors in da house: Cars you build in your head!Right now my "building season" is starting so there's verry little place for dreaming about things that are not in the pipeline, I need as few distractions as possible since I spend most of the winter in my workshop building 2-wheelers and need to focus on that 100%..... But there's two versions of a 68 -71 El Camino in the back of my head and has been for quite a while.... #1. Painted So Cal Race Shop style but grey suede rear & (Cat) yellow front, slammed over 16" steelies with Moon Discs and tall Salt Flats style Good Year rubber, full cage, bomber seats, Auto Meter gauges in stripped out dash and a Huddinge Diesel Services modified Cat C9 8.8L Turbo Diesel hooked to a 6 speed Tremec trans, rooooolllllling Salt Flats Stylee...... #2. Painted grey suede with white SS stripes, 80's nose-down-ass-up stance, Ansen slotmags 7x15" front and 12x15" rear with Pos-A-Traction rubber, bench seat covered with a blanket in a scruffy interior and stuffed under the hood (might even leave the hood off) a GM ZZ572 Crate Engine hooked to a 4 speed trans. On weekends it will run Cheater Slicks on black steelies just to make smoke & black lines..... DP says: If everything falls in place #2 will be rolling around Mosta Hill in 07 or 08.....

There has been loads, I cant keep track While the Marina/ital vans were topping the readers rides charts, i was dreaming about a fully customed van/passion wagon thing. that saloon looks good snapdagonclubman, cleen in whiite. Still keep pondering the V6 cossie scimitar concept thing with plenty body mods, sorted for use on track aswell as the show. This week it has been MR2 mk1 estate (still wondering how that would work and what storage if owt would be gained). ;D Plus hard as nails XR4x4 with mk1 face on 15 inch x7 black wellers. one or more might happen for real... one day

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

A mate rang me to tell me his sister in law has lost her husband and wants to sell his old Ford Mustang "silver, 5 litre, N reg". Which I assumed to be a Mustang II. So its a challenge as no good ever came of a M2, but I thought slammed low, black alloys (or NASCAR steelies), MOPAR 6 pack hood scoop, hot 302, shift kitted C4, black King Cobra stripe set (maybe not the full set!), tints, cage, buckets... That was the last one I thought of. I'm still in the planning stage for the Commodore and NASCAR influences are all there - JG 24 Dupont orange base colour - black bonnet and bootlid - lowered sensibly - black nascar steelies - a sodding great 24 on the roof (blame nightmares for that after seeing his 76 on the kadett) - calibra seats - alloy door cards and I'm gonna have a go at fabricating a dash too - no V8 tho (just a 24V straight six - tuned for torque as I'm gonna leave the std diff in the transmission and just add a five speed box or leave the four speed in it) - one big centre silencer and a side exit pipe just in front of the rear wheels. Still also in the parts collection stage as well although apart from the car I now have - a calibra black leather interior stored in my garage loft - a 24V lump - a R25 Box - a set of springs that'll drop the ride height - Downpipe - 24V loom ready for when the project starts - this one really fires me up - it the stuff I have to do before I can start it that depresses me

I`ve got a few but the one I have had for the longest is with a Daihatsu Charmant. Got the idea in 1996 when I first discovered (after a scrappy hunt) that they were pretty similar to an AE86. Basically its a case of putting the AE86 running gear into a charmant, leaving the charmant bog stock, external and internal, runnning the charmant 14" cross spoke wheels. Now I know its been done a few times since but at the time with no access to the interweb I didnt know this, so I have been looking on and off for a charmant ever since. Thought I had one a couple of month ago but went for more than I could afford at the time. Chances of me doing that now are slim, thanks to AE86 and charmant rarity unless I want to spend about £6000 buying the bits to build it, which is why it will probably always stay as an idea rather than a reality

allways got loads of crazy ideas in my head-
was thinking about a mad rock crawling 4x4 cross with a baja bug! would be a space frame with a mid mouted small block, rock crawling suspension set up that goes to all the mad angles, mad bloon chunky tyres with the rears slightly bigger, small modular stlye gold wheels, fibre glass body thats split along the B post line and it would have to sit nice and low(ish) and wide, peramnt 4wd and painted as a homage to the tamiya monster beetle!
have also been thinging bout a spacefame mini pickup thats cross between a grass tracker and one of those rage buggies - bike engine, chunky quad tyres on 10's, high 4x4 stance with loads of suspension travel.
and this also popped in my head the other day - a 1/4 mile land rover: series 1 swb (pickup) on the deck, v8, tubbed narrowed front track erm maybe!

The last 2 I thought up were a pillarless mk 2 golf 2 door in powder blue on yellow beetle steelies with a full billabong/billabug style interior and all the other 'back to 89' thump thump style touches And looking for a t4 van the other day we came across the rustiest yellow t4 I've ever seen and promptly walked away... but I had visions of it slammed on moondiscs and wide whites with full faded and aged mooneyes signwriting and pinstriping in a t4 rat style to combat all the audi rs4 wheeled t4's I keep seeing! lol (not that theres anything wrong with rs4 wheels mind )

Well mainly i've been day dreaming about how I want my minor.
Raked, With widened steels on the back and van steels on the front painted, baby moons, Disc brakes, mildly tuned 1275 with a type 9 gearbox, old skool bucket seats. Little Mountney steering wheel. Telescopic damper conversion. Well thats all pretty much acheivable so thats how it'll probably end up lol.
Also been fantasizing bout building a proper rod. Probably Model T based, or something british. Proper Rod!

Like most of you no doubt I've built millions of rides in my head.
From the JCB Fastrac SUV complete with spare wheel on a hydraulic lift the rear door through the Herald pickup and the Allegro rally car to the 4wd wheel motor electric ute platform, they've all whirled through my brain at one time or another.
Enduring though is a survivalist buggy based on a 2wd Thwaites dumper platform. Ever see the Mad Max films? Now you know.

Also been thinking bout a SBF motivated Mk3 Capri. 15x8" Compomotive M/L's Stupidly clean exterior. With bumpers etc in tact. Lowered couple of inches. Engine with Aluminium heads, racy cam and a bige eldebrock carb hidden under a stock air filter housing. MMMM
Love the idea of a Charade GtTI powered Perodua Nippa. Slammed on wide steels with stripped interior, monster tach and full cage.
Also wanna build a hillman hunter with a rover t16 engine in. But I can't decide how I want it to look. I've got visions of it really low on 7 and 8x14" Slotmags.
