or PM me. don't bother posting on this thread.
as much as it pains me to do this, I need to top up our house deposit fund so we can actually afford somewhere, which means cutting down on my toys/projects. as this is T+T and in full working order, but doesnt get a whole lot of use, its first on the to-go list.
well where it start. its the ex-count pandamonium lada. alan put a lot of work into this in the time he had it, including new front wings, valance and a front end respray, £200 of new weber carb, new flywheel and clutch, and countless other stuff. ive then taken it and given it a full suspension rework, new rims and spacers, fabricated a full stainless exhaust, new carpets, bootlid, locks, various bits of trim and interior,, and countless other modifications and repairs to bring it up to what I think is a pretty high standard for a modified lada.
heres the spec. youll have to bear with me here as its going to be quite long, cos ive done loads to it and am very enthusiastic this little car! itll get added to as I remember more!
1996 lada riva saloon. 1500cc manual.
* brand new weber carb kit. (fitted by alan approx xxx mls ago)
* new flywheel and clutch (fitted by alan approx xxx mls ago)
* brand new rear lower arms (these are RWD and 5-linked from the factory in case you didnt know). fitted two days before I got it for MOT.
* one off custom made adjustable panhard rod. (done by myself)
* new uprated shocks all round.(bugpack reds)
* modified, boxed and strengthened upper front A-arms for more lowness, again done by myself.
* front hubs are redrilled to 4x100 from 4x98 with longer rally-spec studs, hub snouts machined down to 57.1mm (VW size), one off 20mm alloy spacers made by myself. all balloints and track rod ends checked for play and replaced if necessary, and new brand name (ferodo) brake pads fitted.
* rear has 30mm 4x100 bolt-on H+R spacers machined out to 58mm centrebore, fitted to hubs with wobble bolts, then with a screw-in stud conversion.
* wheels are 4x100 13x7 ATS classics, fitted with 165/55R13 tyres for a mild stretch. one wheel has been professionaly repaired on the rear lip. they have minor kerbing in places, but overall are very presentable.
* it has the mother of all sumpguards fitted due to the diminutive ride height, made from 1/4" plate, which clamps to the ARB at the front and bolts to the rear of the crossmember at the back, totally covering the bottom of the engine. it has acess holes cut for airflow and sump nut access, and the bolts are countersunk so they down stick down.
* bumpers have been stripped, smoothed and polished- they're extruded aluminium as stock on these!
* it has new front wings(probably the biggest rot spot on ladas), which have been smoothed/debadged/de sidemarkered before being fitted along with a new front valance, and appropriate inner wing repairs, then a screen-forward repaint by mark 'nightmaresracing' holmes in the original cherry red hue.
* I have also sourced a 'new' bootlid for it, as the old one was rusted at the bottom edge due to water ingress from a spoiler it had fitted, and damaged around the bott lock hole. the new one is mint, no rust or dents, and has since been debadged and had the number plate lights deleted (more on that shortly). it has also had a new lock set fitted (boot and doors) so the keys match.
* the rear panel has also been modified, to make it look 'JDM-tyte yO!' so it now accepts a JDM style/size import plate on correct-slot-in japanese mounts, and is lit by side mounted bolt-on JDM number plate lights. the car has also had a 'personal' plate fitted that is 5-dgits, so it can legally be displayed on one line with correct size letters and spacing. its a fairly subtle mod that confuses people greatly, they all think its some '80s datsun now
the front number plate is also a single line one, trimmed down to the legal minimum and mounted under the bumper on a strip of stainless piano hinge, so it can swig up out the way, for 'show use officer'
* interior wise, the only deviations from stock are a black leather nardi torino classic steering wheel, a 8-ball gearknob, a 70s style TIM black plastic dash-mounted tacho, and a kenwood CD player. the rest is all original and stock, and in good or perfect order- I sourced some near-mint orignal black carpet with no wear, an uncut parcel shelf (the old one had 6x9s fitted), a new column shroud(it was broken) a new horn-ring assembly(it was missing), alloy door-step trims, re-wired the dash lighting to bypass the faulty rheostat, rewired the stereo to get rid of a lot of dodgy wiring, replaced all the missing screws from the dash and centre console so it doesnt rattle and squak, and also gave it a damn good clean out!!
at the moment, I'm currently in the process of finishing off a full 2" stainless steel under-axle exaust system with 2" rollout tip and a single cherry-bomb, based on a system I recently did for a mates chevette, which sounded awsome!
other jobs I paln to complete before it leaves me are a new throttle linkage, a small rust repair to one front outriggers, and I'm also waiting for my paint man to paint the new bootlid I sourced and fitted.
some pics to alleviate your boredom-
well, I'm done for tonight, I realise this advert isnt 'complete', theres a lot left to cover yet, but I will put up the rest of the details and everything ive missed will be added tomorrow as I'm out of time to finish it tonight, so just bear with me a little please!
