we may be given some more derogatory abuse Aye, why break the habit of a lifetime? You ever considered that Dez might have regarded your offer as ? If you genuinely can't understand why he's reacted in the way he has, you need your bumps feeling. I think you've got a nerve getting uptight and saying your intelligence has been insulted. It really does astonish me when people like you make stupid offers and then somehow manage to infer offence from the reply back. You knew full well that offer was a p*ss take. Why get upset when the inevitable occurs? I had the same s*it with some chancing jeb-end on the VOC forum who decided to offer me £20 for a part worth the thick end of a ton. The little tit actually complained to the admin when I told him to go forth and multiply. Adieu. Dez, just keep the frigging thing. You're just going to get dreamers crawling out of the woodwork and it's only going to wind you up.

Please can we have no more responses to this that aren't either Dez or someone with a genuine, realistic interest in buying it. Thanks.

You get idiots trying to buy any car I find, the same ones that ask stupid questions, make stupid offers, or worst of all in my opinion, ask 'what's the lowest you'd take?' The curse word asking price is quite obviously what I'd like, let's work from that shall we? Offer me something decent and I might surprise you and accept, or we may be able to negotiate to a deal.
I've had it selling a fully t&t'd Corsa, a spares & repairs Saab and a completely stripped project Viva. No matter what it is, there's always some idiot trying their luck in a half arsed fashion.
Anyway, back to the point. Chin up with the sale and don't let the cretins get to you.

i suppose id best update this, ive generally been ignoring the thread up til now, cos of this- this includes people offering swaps. for anyone thinking of offering swaps, I'm not adverse to this as i do tend to trade around a bit with cars, but I'm more into older RWD stuff, and americans/hotrods, so I'm not interested in anything FWD or modern, or anything that you cant be bothered to tell me what it is! for everyone else, the car is currently halfway through having a steering rack conversion, a 2L fiat 132 sport twincam with 5 speed box fitted, along with staggered 13x7/13x8.25 3pc split rims with brand new tyres. ive already fitted some black cloth mx-5 seats. oh and once thats done I'm going to make a hybrid lada/ford enginsh axle to give me a choice of diff ratios, and turret the rear end as well. it'll be a proper mk1/mk2 escort beater then so, the price is no longer going to be anywhere near 1500quid, think more like 3k. id still trade it up or sell it on for the right deal, just don't expect it to be anywhere near the price it was.

Dez, your best bet would be to get this thread locked and start a new one once the revised car is available for sale.

youre probly right dan, tbh the only reason ive left it running is cos I wasnt 100% sure I wanted to/could keep it. we're in the process of buying a house, and my commute has gone from a 45 mile motorway blast to a 20 mile twisty country lane backroad route, so the lada now makes a lot more sense to use as a daily, so tbh I will probably keep it for the forseeable. unless I get offered something I want more as a trade. you know how it is it will have to go once i get round to finishing the pickup though. andy, if you read this you may as well lock the thread, might stop certain people offering me the same car 3 times in the hope my answer changes.
