Would any of you nice people know how the Toyo R1 is? I'm thinking about getting some of those for my penta 5 stars.. It's hard to find Tyre's in 235 / 55 16 which pretty much is the limit on the rear unless I start working on the arches..
Anny suggestions on other Tyre brands? I like Avon but I cant find them in that size in Denmark..
Cheers and have a nice weekend :-)

A couple of new pictures... Dashboard: I'm thinking about fitting the original rev counter again. But I'll run into problems when I fit the ECU Fuel cell: For the injection and to save weight And lurking in the Garage ;-)

Update time ;-) Went to the workshop yesterday and started up on a few different projects. To do list: Fit ecu, manifold, ITB'S and get the cooling sorted. My manifold is for the E type so the thermostat housing doesn't fit. I may have to look into an electrical vacuum pump as well. Try out the LT77 gearbox. Fit 4 calibers, new lower wish bones bushes (poly) Vented disk's and braided hoses. So I have my work cut out for the next couple of weeks ;-) Before and after shot of the new manifold. I may have to relocate the battery to the trunk. And oh the sun is shining, spring is coming so get those cars back on the road :-)

Long day Yesterday :-) Got the old overdrive box of of her.. Heavy compared to the new one. And then i put on the ITB'S to see if there is room for them. I think my battery must find itself another place to live..

Thx guys :-) Well here is one more update then.. I'm a tired little boy now. After two hard and long days in the garage/shed/workshop/lab... I spend a good part of yesterday driving around in Denmark collecting need full things. And then i started working on my Thermostat housing. My new manifold is from an E type, so i needed to do something about my filler neck and the hoses to the radiator and expansion tank. I made a 38 mm t piece from some old tubing i had lying in my scrap bucket (I think it started life as a steering collum in a beetle) I drilled right through it with a ? Hmm cup drill ? I don't know what you call it. used one of the half's and then made a new hole in another part of the tube. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz My co2 welder only knows one speed / voltage.. which is THE PEDAL TO THE METAL.. so the quality of my welding is not picture perfect.. :-( Here is the final result: If this works then I may order some alloy tubing and one of the weld on alloy Filler necks and then get i done that way Just for the looks ;-) Later on my friend Jesper came along to help me with the new gearbox. I removed the old clutch and my fly wheel which clearly had seen better days. Lots of Small stress cracks in the surface.. But I ran into a bit of luck when i bought my gearbox in Sweden (I'm not talking about the nice girls in Stockholm) The guy i bought it from had a new flywheel and a new clutch that came with the box! So I fitted that! :-) Now the box is in place! Everything fitted And I am one glad boy! Lets see what tomorrow brings of joy in Denmark

More sun in Denmark :-) My gearbox is in place. All I need to do now is to sort out my speedo drive.. Old speedo is mechanical. The drive in the new box is Electrical.. Any suggestions? Funny how changing the box, the fly wheel and the clutch seems like a huge job. But compared to the time i spend making small brackets and stuff like that for the new components in the engine room then it's a small job. This is my censor for the trigger wheel (more on that later) And this is my new coil.. This placement is a compromise and I'm not certain about it yet. I want short HT leads, I want it to be away from heat and I want it to look neat.. I'll try this out and see how it works.. Tomorrow I'll continue fighting all the small but time consuming jobs :-) Enjoy the Easter :-)

The speedo drive in your new box is held in by a small single bolt and a yoke. Remove it and replace it with the mechanical connection for a speedo found on an earlier variant of LT77 - say off a 1970's series 1 SD1, or a Landrover.

Wires.. I HATE WIRES.. So why did I start on a project that involves so many of them? Tried out a new place for my coil pack: And then my tame electrician came by to help me out with some of the *duut* Wires: We are making a new loom for the ecu, fans, fuel pump and the rest.. This is the new relays and fuses. The ECU will live next to it. :-) I used some more child labor. My son fitted the oil catch tank :-) Tomorrow it's more wires... BOOOORING but important! So I must get my act together.

Short update :-) It's the small stuff that's eating the hours... Spending a lot of time getting brackets and sensors to work and sit in the right place. Today we worked on the speeder caple (kit from Jenway) Thank you to Rasmus for being patient :-) A nice sup-price was waiting for me when i got back home: I have had the front pulley machined. So now the trigger wheel for the ecu is solid (I hope) And part of the engine. Must try to fit it tomorrow. Now I'm waiting for my HT leads. An a solution for my temp sender. The thread in my manifold is 5/8 The thread on the sender is Ehhh something else..

So it's update time :-) Actually there isn't a whole lot to show and tell. We have spend at lot of time working on weiring, fitting the wide band lambda (inovate) Making heat Shields for the exhaust (pictures to come) Getting the trigger wheel right and fiddling about with the sensor. I have started working on the fuel lines as well. Trying to find the best location for the pump, filter and regulator. I think all of it will live in the trunk together with the fuel cell! I like the trigger wheel setup! My only worry is that the wheel is a damper wheel. So there it's vulcanized. And i don't know if it's running true at 5000 rpm. So it may disturb the signal. (only time can tell) ;-) To get more room to work I had to dismantle the front of the car! Should have done that before! So much more room! (And so much more to put back together when we are done) This is a setup picture for the ecu and relays and such. It's for a 4 cyl. But basically that's it! I like Emerald. They are help full and you can download manuals and software for free. So you can get a picture of what the ecu can do for you before you make even bigger holes in you pockets. I'm having a couple of days off from working on the car. But ill be back ;-) Probably on Monday. If my HT leads and the rest of my fuel fittings show up during the week then we may try to start her up next weekend :-)
