Thank you Xeno ;D Spell Check Spell Check and more Spell Check! Foxy: Classispares, Talk to Ray.. www.jagweb.com/classicspares/I like you S3 I like the black one in your thread! I read about that one somewhere before. I think is't on airbags. If you want to go as low as that then thats the way to go! If you just want to improve the handling, then think about the Harvey Biley stabeliser kit! It's great! Getting som polybushes in the Steering rack is also worth it! Cheap and easy but you can really tell they are there. I hope this helps! Christian :-)

Okay RR long time no see! We have been working a lot on the car! Little stuff here and there. I'm sick and tired of wires! And so is my friend Rasmus. But it's worth it. All of the weiring in the car is now checked. A good thing in a 40 year old Jag.. I have a few pictures of the new water pump! And the modifications to the old water pump. The plan is to get rid of all the things that drag on the engine! Power steering servo, water pump and the fans. To release some HP and to get better cooling. On the way.. The old pump, cut and shut The old water pump

Update time Having to earn money has kept me away from the garage for the last 3 weeks or so (oil rig in Norway) But I'm back home now so me and my girl can spend a bit of quality time together (for the time being she's a right gold digger spending my money and not giving much in return. Yesterday my mate Rasmus and I fitted a pug servo and powered it up. It seems to work alright. But it's hard to say when you cant test it on the road. It's in the same position as the old one. The goal is to liberate a few pony's, get better fuel economy and to make room for the electrical water pump you can see in the picture. I'm trying to get rid of all the old engine ancillaries. So that the only thing the engine has to use power on is the generator. It was nice to see the old girl back on the ground. If only for the experiment with the servo. We tried putting it under load to figure out the sise of the fuse we need. 25 - 30 amps should do it. Next part is the weiring for the pumps. The water pump has it's own little control unit. It will live next to the ecu under the dash. Still loads of other jobs to do before she's a runner but it's slowly getting there ;D

Thx Broadie Today i went on another epic road trip. The goal? To get a new toy for the workshop.. I have lusted for one of those since i was a young apprentice panel beater. And now it's mine AL mine (evil laughter) I don't know what you call it in English but it's a sigge bertel maskine in danish and you can do a lot of nice things with one of those. Cant wait to use it

Had a long day in the workshop yesterday! Not that i did a lot! Hang ower is a curse word in a workshop in +25c The Craig Davies water pump has it's own little control unit! It's a little computer that turns the water pump on and of in internals to keep the engine at a pre set temperature. It has it's own temperature sender. Temperature senders is a bit of an issue on this car! One for the ecu, one for the water pump and one for the gage in the car! I have a Racetech temp sender! A mechanical one! A sweet peace of kit but a curse word to fit due to the cabilar tube. So i think i shall fit an electrical one in stead (money pit) That way my instruments will look alike too! A few things came with the friendly package guy :-) Moto-lita seems to be the only company that does a hub for the s1 jag.. Lucky that I Like the tiller :-) It's suits the car :-) Cant wait to have in my hands aiming for the next bend in the road.. But right now this is what the car feels like to me :-( So i need to find the scissors and the glue and crack on with it :-)

Hi Stuart Nice you are a cat caretaker too! The HB Stabilizer came from Ray at classic spares.. I bought it together with a lot of other things. I think it was around 400 £ both the front and rear! Give him a call! He is a nice help full guy! Good luck with your car! Christian

The quest goes on I cant report a whole lot of progress on the car.. Work, holliday and life en general has kept me away from the garage. But I maneged to get a little bit done yesterday! When I got the car 2 years ago, I decided that i wanted to have some instrument's that i could rely on instead of the original Smith's that are nice to look at but not weary trustworthy. I have had race tech before and I like them so i figured i would go for that. I bought the oil gage and Temp gage in mechanical. And the volt and amp in electrical. I removed the old smith gage's but retained the original frame. And fitted the new gage's. But the lightning was different and the hose for the oil and the tube for the temp was in the way. The fuse boks it behind the gage's :-( So now I'm going to have the electrical temp gage instead of the mechanical. And I'll be fitting at oil temp gage instead of the pressure gage which will get a new home somewhere else. Another problem is my fuel gage.. My fuel cell holds a vdo sender unit. And i bought a vdo gage with the cell.. It's not at all like the race tech instruments. So I bought at race tech gage that works with another Resistance then the vod. Countless hours spent on the net trying to find out which resitense works with the race tech gage was a waste of time :-( So i had to buy a race tech sender just to measure the resistance. And then buy a sender unit with the rigth length and resistance to fit with the gage. The next problem is that my fuel cell is filled with foam. The foam would foul the new sender unit so we had to invent a tube than can protect the sender. A piece of plastic tube from a sink is on trial right now. Lets see if it works :-) So now the volt, oil temp, water temp, and fuel is all the same. Only the instrument in the middle is different.. The air-fule ratio.

One more electrical thingy for the car... One that could prove to be wherry important! When on carps the brake amplifier gets the vacuum from the plenum champer in the manifold = vacuum from 6 cyl! The new manifold has an outlet from the last cyl. I don't know if that's enough Hence the Vacuum pump you see on the picture! It should be pretty straight forward.. Ignition switched relay -> power -> earth and then connect it to the brake amplifier with a one way valve! The original should do the trick.. I just need to find room for it somewhere.. I had the new fuel sender fitted (must take pictures!) And the instrumentation is a work in progress! Always something to do

One of the thing's on the car that's been bothering me is the seats. I found some in Germany. There are pictures in this saga in one of my earlier installments. But I think they were not quite what i wanted! Lot's of hours spent on the net trying to find something that I would like to lover my rear part into! I found these: BMW Seats. They are a bit heavy! But nice and adjustable. Hopefully slim enough so that my door Barr for the roll cage can fit too. And in good nick! Cheap too at around 200 £ (cheap in Denmark that is) May have time to play around with fitting them next week! Still working on the instruments. I think I'll end up with an auto-meter speedometer to cope with the electronic sender unit in the new 5 speed box! Cheers from rainy Denmark

This car is putting a big fat grin across my face, just my kind of car! Watching with immense interest (and just a hint of jealousy).

Thank you for the nice words Smiler I must admit I'm getting a little bit impatient! I want to drive the thing! Not just throw a spanner at it! But that's the way it is when you start a project! Time and money runs away from you! Plans change when you get new id ears or new input from friends! Ant i guess that what's it's all about! Interacting and having fun! This came with the post today! All the way from UK! about 100 £ Cheaper to buy it there then from the supplier in Denmark! Its my new speedo! The lt77 box that is on the car now has an electronic speedeo drive which hopefully can talk to this Autometer speedo! If not then you can hook the speedo up with a gps unit that will supply the signal! The reason for choosing autometer is that i already have a 5 inch sport pro rev counter. (pictures of this later on!) It's great getting this part! It means we can get all the instrumentation done! I'm going to trial fit my new seats tomorrow.. they came out alright after a bit of soap and leather conditioner! Now all i need is a pair of 4 point harnesses in black with quick release! Any suggestions I want them to look a bit old fashioned! Cheers from Denmark

make sure you have an lt77 and not a R390 because although they look the same they are very different. to see which is which, the LT77 reverse is hard left then harder again and forwards next to first.
the R390 is usually found in vans with a really short 1st gear.
