My last Mini. Paid £200 for it, from this To this Drove it for two years, got bored, sold it for this Drove that for about 18 months, got bored, bought and restored this, used everyday for nearly 2 years Sold the Bug due to redundancy, bought this for £150, tidied it up, resprayed it, used it for nearly 2 years Got bored of the Breadvan, sold it and bought this (resprayed, tidied up, added luxuries such as front fogs, spoiler & CD player) used EVERY day for 2 years, never missed a beat. Wasn't really looking for a Metro but stumbled across it for £200 Got bored of the Metty and bought my Golf Very much a work in progress. Neglected by last owner so spending most of my time putting silly things right. Always liked Mk2 Golfs and decided to take the plunge. Work done so far- New front wheel bearings, cambelt, new heater motor, waterpump & rocker cover gasket, coolant and oil change done, needs new rear window mechanisms, parcel shelf and a sound system. Bottoms of doors, front and rear bumpers painted, mopped & polished nicely. I get bored quite quickly once I've finished the car and driven it for a while so God knows what I'll have next!

I will try to get some pics and better ones one day but my ford corsair was because its an old ford what I have always been into(to note not just these btw I like vauxhalls too and rods customs etc..) bought from its last owner because it was cheap well was when I haggled him down with cash in hand he was also going to scrap it and I cant see no one else trying to save these as much as people are with mk1 cortinas which is a shame so I couldnt let this be scrapped or stripped! also it was a bench seat and a 1500 pre xflow plenty to boot also they look pretty decent shame about the spares avaliability but i got this covered ;D

Well my Love for Retros started when I thought one would make a good cheap second car when I was running a 350bhp drift car which was costing lots in fuel and insurance. I still had a massive love for J cars so went looking for an oldie just to be a little different! Well after a bit of searching I found my, now beloved, KE70 Corolla in a Scrapyard in Cornwall for £250 and I bought it without even knowing what it was lol! Luckily it passed the MOT the same week lol. Obviously I found out it's very cool and sought after now lol Well I tell a lie my first retro was a silly bit of fun that I couldn't resist I also have my Datsun which I bought late last year! Now my Corolla has become my main project I missed having a cool Retro J car to cruise about in so this was the answer :-) The other one was more of a rescue attempt but unfortunately was a lot far gone! It's nearly finished being striped for parts to save others.... ........and that's just the Retros I still own!! Ive had a fair few more!! It's a bug!!!! Lol

The current fleet: Hillman: It was the right era, it was an estate, it was MOT'd, it was cheaper than the car I was selling (allowing funds for immediate playing with), I reckoned it would take to some applied Seth_Look. Triumph: Felt much better on a test drive than a Morris Minor had, was not a patchwork quilt underneath if a little frilly at the edges. Morris: Was available from someone I knew at the money I had to replace my written off A35, liked the late '50s-ness of it. Borgward: Wouldn't be able to afford a complete one, rarity, mid-fifties US two door wagon styling in a European size, enough spares and in a condition that it seemed (still does!) a do-able project.

My brother bought this old Audi Coupe Gt FI late 1997 for a measly £40. It was basically the 5 cylinder warble and the way it looked got me hooked. I've owned just about every variation since.

I went throught most makes of car through my early 20s, but i ended up confirming what i already knew at the begining, i like 80s/90s german cars, my favourites being early E30 325i, quattros and 911's , I'm always lurking ebay and one day this 944 snotter came up, i intended it as a cheap daily But when reality hit that i wont be able to afford a 911 again, and the other cars i love were fast aproaching more that i was willing to pay, i decided to develop this further A shell, and many upgrades later and its close to everthing i want from a car, it would be difficult to replace now.

When I passed my test, I wanted an old, British classic, something cheap and plentiful like a Farina, Cambridge etc etc (well, they were at the time) but my folks (misguidedly) got me a Citroen AX which broke, a lot. I ran it for 3 months and after a driveshaft snapped, got shot. An ad in Classic Car Mart caught my eye, 1975 Vauxhall Victor, quite local, £375 taxed and tested (oh yeah). Now I didn't even know what one looked like and the internet probably didn't exist in 1996, even if it did, we didn't even have a remote control for the TV so there was no chance of Googling anything (pay heed you youngsters). Anyhoo, on the hottest day of the year, me and a couple of friends went to look, I was rather taken by all the chrome and the white lettering on the rear tyres (General XP2000) and the fact it was twice the size of my AX but the insurance was only £130 more, (£770 if I remember). The rest is history in a convoluted way. I sold it in '98, regretted it and always said I wanted it back, then the opportunity arose a few years back. 2 years to get it back on the road and then using it since (apart from this winter as it's having a holiday).

When I was 16/17, I thought about what my 1st car would be. I didn't want the usual Fiesta, Corsa or Saxo. So (admittedly late), I got.. EDIT: I was so proud of the old girl last week, when this happened:

i never had a reason to choose a car. I bought my first car ('74 Toyota Corolla), because i was looking for a car, had some friends with classic Toyotas and this car came up for sale. All the later cars where bought because i had money and i liked them. And my latest buy (the Rover SD1) was because i had an itch for something english (bored of the reliable Toyotas! ) and this came across my path. Manual, V8 and something 'different' (at least in the netherlands!) so i bought it pic courtesy of Brian Damaged

I wanted a cheap fast car to do some late night white road hooning, and this came up at the perfect time. I've added the wheels and removed a lot of weight and i'm just sorting a few more bits out so it performs better. I'm not bothered about it looking nice, just gonna rattle can gloss white it then thrash the living daylights out of it.

Hmmm, 'My' car is toss up between either my P38 Range Rover or my P5b range rover.. I got my P5b when I was 14 it belonged to my father since I was about 8 so I have huge attachment to it, it'll never get sold, I cut about a zillion lawns and painted about half my dads crumbling country house as it fell apart around me to get my hands on it, one day it'll get done... My P38 is another car I love and next to the P5 I've owned it the longest 5 years now, it's just great super comfy, great high speed Motorway cruiser, every luxury known to man, real cow and tree everywhere inside, tows superbly, and despite the road bias rubber passed a stuck 90 up a steep muddy field last week. So despite the fact that I put £145 worth of fuel in it tonight and it's not even full... I love it to bits, I sold it to a mate last year and bought it back again within 4 months as I just missed it to much... I also have a BMW 328i vert with the big bore induction kit (supposedly 240bhp), this was got in a deal with my old Subaru which whilst very good I just found hard to love, the 328i on the other hand is epic pulls like a train right round to the redline sounds epic and is lovely with the roof down, especially in tunnels! just a right place right time car and I actually prefer it's blend of decent power with good looks great mpg and stunning practicality to much more exotic things i've owned in the past. no pics but I’m sure you can all imagine a tidy dark blue subtly lowered e36 vert...

I got into Beetles because they were cheap, and my uncle is a VW maniac and expert VW mechanic, plus he found me the car through the VW club. That decision was easy then! Then, I crashed that and bought a VW Type 3 wagon because I wanted a Beetle with more luggage space and a convenient hatch. Then I bought the next Beetle to take all of the parts from the previous one. By this stage I was in too deep not to buy an air-cooled VW, as I know all about them and have about two cars' worth of spare parts!

I guess I got mine, because I have never seen one on UK roads, and in several years with thousands of photos reviewed, I still haven't seen one done RIGHT, perfectly proportioned, with all the tiny details checked off. So I figured I could do a better job
