Well its been established that I like and am going to buy (once the poxy suxo has gone ) a Minor/Moris 1000/moggie/blue rinse mobile. So couple of questions. How easy is it to fit Marina/ Ital brakes? Whats involved in fitting a 1275 i imagine its just a straight swap? Is there any benefit in fitting a Marina/Ital gearbox nad rear axle? Are they easy to lower? I can imagine they are torsion bar on the front so can wind that down a couple of Splines and I may leave the back standard (or even jack it up a little ;D) What were the must have minor mods of the day?? Oh yes and lots of inspirational photo's! Thank you ;D ;D

The 1275 engine is easy if you find a Midget. Marina and ital (A+ engine) has to be modified slightly, nothing tricky. Front suspension is torsion bar and is dead easy. If you cant figure it out i'll run you through it once you have one. If you decide to lower rear, blocks are readily available. I've got a book on Minor modifying, i've finished with it, if you PM me your address i'll stick it in the post. Hurry up and sell the Saxo.

I can't wait to flog the saxo but it's causing me problems! The exhausut manifold>downpipe bolts keep falling off which is making it overfuel due to excess oxygen passing the Lambda sensor. Plus it needs brakes and tyres on the front

That pick up with moon discs, is that the koolest car ever built! One of! That is the clone of El Ritchie's Purple poeple Eater built by Simon Mower. The car features the original Pick Up bed but unfortunately the car was broken up and the cab no longer exists. Had a 4 1/2" roof chop and used a Traveller roof section 'cos it's longer than the PU cab roof - that was the trick back then requiring minimum cuting and welding since the trav roof's spot on for a 4 1/2" chop. I used to drive the original to work everyday, only when I had it it was 1275 Midget powered - the original had a 1098. The clone's disappeared but I'd love to have it back - last I heard it was around the beckenam Kent area and painted satin black. Cheers, Jon

Wheels of steel! Jonny boy,
What about the two Minors you've got in one single garage then?
Oh yeah, and I never did ask you. Who the hell was El Ritchie? Another one of those characters from way back that slip from the memory. Ritchie King?
Hmm, tangent. What about MX5 running gear? I've heard it bandied around here, but hasn't somebody already done it? There's a convert on the bay at the moment with a supposed Mx5 lump...
;D
