Hi
Fairly new on here but have been logging on and reading posts but not really posting until now, anyone got a garage community in Hereford or Herefordshire. I have a unit that I share which is dry where I do my fixing "cold but dry". Just wondering what everyone else gets up to in the area. Got a Sunbeam Lotus I'm rebuilding - Again.

I work over at Shobdon so they let me across the border most days  Hows the Sunbeam coming along? Ive a Ford Prefect in about a 100 parts, just waiting for a cash injection/some warmer weather to arrive. I've not seen many others from the 'shire on the board, maybe this could be the start of a proper local meet up  |

I work over at Shobdon so they let me across the border most days Hows the Sunbeam coming along? Ive a Ford Prefect in about a 100 parts, just waiting for a cash injection/some warmer weather to arrive. I've not seen many others from the 'shire on the board, maybe this could be the start of a proper local meet up Sunbeam is coming along slowly, I restored it about 7 years ago but not having a garage at the time its started to go in a couple of places I will sort some pictures out and upload them soon. I knackered the engine on Curbourgh sprint circuit earlier in the year so I am rebuilding that first then onto the body as there is nothing serious just some small cosmetic bits. I had it all stripped out for sprinting but am now going to put it in a more usable day to day guise with the interior back in and to have it more of a Q car with the engine having a fair bit more power this time. |

Brian That looks like a bit of a weapon, tell me some more about it. Gennie Ti shell that was on display at Safety Devices for years. Was built in the late 90's into a rally car with 1600 Talbot lump, but now powered by a Toovey-built dry-sumped 2.0 Vauxhall XE on throttle bodies, chucking 250-odd bhp 6-speed sequential flat-change Quaife gearbox and Atlas back axle. It's erm....bloody rapid. Check this video out from the 2010 Smeatharpe Stages down in Somerset (car was running a spare Tran-X Pro 5-speeder here after the Quaife box went bang, so was softened off a bit managment-wise to just under 200bhp) We've had a year out this year and the car's been rebuilt with triangulated cage/4-link back end/bigger brakes (much needed) and Corsa electric PAS. Plans are to do the Association of Southern Counties Motor Clubs Tarmac Stage Rally Championship again in 2012. |

Cool, what vehicles are you into, I'm going to start a thread on my car shortly, will get some decent photos together I am into allsorts which is why RR has held my interest for so long. The variety of interesting stuff is amazing. Late 70s and early 80s is the era of cars I like and I grew up watching local rallying. Andy Burton and his ferrari engined monsters. I grew up with classic brit bikes and get to ride a couple of my Dads along with my Kawasaki Zx9r. I will be looking for a Scimitar next year. Some interest on here. Looking forward to seeing your Sunbeam. If you need a hand with anything, give me a shout. 2 kids take up a lot of my time but always willing to help. Briandamaged, I think I may have seen that car at the Malvern showground this year or last. Thats well weapon that is! |

aaaahhhh the alfa ferrari amazing. I used to go and watch some local club stuff I'm also into my bikes but not the J stuff have a 999S. I have a thread of the car now 1983 Sunbeam Lotus in the readers rides section. |

I have a thread of the car now 1983 Sunbeam Lotus in the readers rides section. Nice. A guy at work just bought a 1098 as his first bike. Against all odds he is still alive! Do you get out on it much? Yep a fair bit in the summer pretty much most weekends, which eliminates sunbeam time, I use it in the winter from time to time just to keep it used but only when the roads don't look too bad the rest of the time its on its optimate |
