Only just spotted this thread!
I'm down in Kingsthorne, just south of the City. At the moment my house renovation has taken priority over my cars - to the point I can barely get in my workshop for building clobber. My C202 Volvo project is waiting patiently on my drive for some love and attention, along with its new rolling stock, so hopefully progress will be made on this later this year........
Feel free to drop in for a cuppa if you're passing!

BTW the car/aircraft/vintage show at Shobdon is on AEROCLUB OPEN DAY 22 Jun 2012 to 24 Jun 2012 Cockpit Tours, Trial Flights ,Spitfire fly by, Static Display of Military and Civilian Aircraft + Vintage Motor Cars. There's camping available all weekend if you lot fancy staying for some beers  |

Hi Tom, I know the one you mean, lowered panel van on teledials?
Mines a standard height camper on steelies, I ran it round in grey primer for a bit but its now painted turquise up to gutter height, it's mostly standard but the exhaust is fooked so it's damn loud at the mo.
Shobdon sounds ace but I'm busy that weekend with family stuff, I'll try and keep that weekend free next year.

Also for those of you who would like to display your car at Shobdon you need to get in touch with Mike Lyne. His electronics contact is "lyne (funny a) aol (spot) com" Just put Shobdon open weekend in the title and tell him who you are, what you've got, and that you're from the Retro Rides car club  For those of you that fancy coming down for the weekend and camping on Saturday, shoot me a PM and I will start to sort spaces on the campsite. |

I don't come here often but spotted this thread, I'm based near Ross Vegas. I know george (dac140y) but I've never seen that sunbeam of his!
I'd be up for a pub meet somewhere in the shire.
Shobdon Meet sounds good should be back off holiday by then, if you see someone clambering out of a caged blue vauxhall powered mini clubman that'll be me.

I'm just up the road from goldnrust, and I'm building a sunbeam to ti spec with forest arches! i also have a daily mk1 fiesta, but I'm hankering for a mk2 cortina at the moment!!

Shobdon was a good day on Saturday despite the wind and rain later on. I had my BBQ going but it was hard work in the wind. I took my mk1 mx5 and my Father in laws VW T25 camper.
Lots of lovely aircraft but only a few cars, those that were there were superb.
Always something of interest at Shobdon even if its just the awesome breakfasts in the canteen.
