I recon that car on the rack is a Riley RME. The boot looks completely wrong for an RM - the front bulkhead appears too short as well. Could be an MG Y Type or an early Jag. Possibly also something like an Austin 16 / Ford Pilot etc. It's difficult to tell without seeing the roof! whats that below the Riley? Maserati 3200GT? I was thinking that's a Maser too!!!

The one sticking in the air a bit? Looks a bit like one I guess! The yard was full of interesting metal. A model T, a very early MG, and numerous others. The chap next to us was stripping a Merc Cosworth thingy. Chase Autos in Billericay, very friendly bunch. That was nearly 3 years ago though! Srtipped some more interior out today. Easier to just link to the album where I'm sticking pics: www.saabcentral.com/phpgallery/album44

Strange place to park...you have nice grass in England,we have dirt..... the car on the rack is a 1939-48 Morris 8.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

It normally sits in front of a garage, but it was in the way so my Dad just shoved it to the nearest out the way spot!
That lawn was nearly dead a few weeks later when we had our heatwave. Recovered quickly though.

No planned mods It's a 5 door so not exactly the stiffest shell in the world It does have turbo (I think) front brakes on it though. I think they were using up parts at the end of the run More pics uploaded. The car was welded up today. I got home from work just as he was finishing up. £175 in the end www.saabcentral.com/phpgallery/album44Happy to recommend him - how often does somehting come out UNDER estimate! A guy called Pat Regan, based in Chelmsford. I found the number on Yell.com Got to get it all primered, painted and stonechipped up now.

Not much left to do. Still got to lash the underside and sills with stonechip (forgot I'd run out!) and it needs a wash, new wiper blades and a good tuneup. Interior went back in no probs on Sat. Even found a pound coin, result! ;D Done the manifold gasket today as I found that was blowing (thought it was the downpipe somewhere). I HATE EXHAUSTS Took bloody ages to get the downpipe back on and sealed to the manifold. Was hoping to get it in for MOT Thurs, but the corsa I look after just failed on broken headlamp brackets. Huh!? We shall see.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Took it for its mot today. I should have written a prediction list cos it failed on what I was half expecting. Front brake pipes, too much corrosion.
And one back pipe as well I'd missed. Just need to find the time to do that now!

Well the brake pipes are done (did them on Sat), but whilst trying to bleed the brakes, I sheared a nipple off (on the car that is... ). Can someone explain WHY not a single factor carries something as simple as a flipping bleed nipple??? Partco could get me a pack of 20, but I need to know what thread it is. What is WRONG with this country? !!!!!! Also does anyone know who supplies genuine Rover parts these days? Looks like the localish express factors (who used to) have dissapeared off the face of the planet. Can anyone help supply a bleed nipple URGENTLY (i.e. I need to get it back in for its MOT before the close of play Thursday. I'm pretty sure it's a metric thread, and the hex size is 8mm. The car has vented discs up front.

Cheers. However, having just spent 3 hours trying to get the old screw out, I fear this caliper is scrap. So I rang the local decent factor (but no bleed screws...) and as if by magic, they have a caliper on the shelf. That'll be tomorrow afternoon's job then!

Well, that's the first time EVER that I've failed a re-test By the time I got to the test station the pedal was rather spongy! Not lost any fluid, but I'm definitely sucking air in somewhere. To say I am mightily peed off would be a gross understatement!!!!! Not sure where to start. A rag and a match might be in order...
