I've got a spare windscreen screen Worth serious money though. HRW alone are £600 ! This is why you find so many P1800 & 1800S in unrestored condition for sale. I broke a nice 1800S as a spares car for my P1800 and the filler was 2" thick. FWIW P1800's were originaly assembled in the UK by Jensen using a British made shell. They can be identified by the cowhorn bumpers. The quality was poor so production moved to Sweden and identification changed to 1800S. P1800 are a lot rarer due to higher "crumbling" rate Don't even consider a car which has front wings missing (budget for around £1700 EACH !) They cost more than an E Type when new and similar costs to an E Type to restore today Paul H

However it is indeed very expensive to properly sort out a rotten one, and there are plenty of tarted up sheds out there.....

When I had mine only source was genuine Volvo and nobody made pattern wings. There were repair panels which solved the problem in most cases though. That was 15 year ago so I suspect either Volvo have dropped their prices or pattern items now available. I don't know what current sill prices are now but would have it cost me £950 for a full set of panels. I bought just the outers (over £200 and double curvature so needed to be pressed for correct shape) and fabricated the inners myself (Had access to industrial guillotine and folder) If you can find one then they are a great car but the 1800S are better made and normally less rusty. I'd have another but this time it's have to be a lottory win mint one as costs to restore are far greater than the end value (like a lot of restorations ) Paul H

I think Mattias Vocks is making that PhotoShop a reality.
Maybe I'll get a left hooker from Swede when I get round to getting mine. Seem a bit cheaper there as well.

With the cost of building a 500bhp 2.3 turbo lump apparently being around 3 grand, the box and axle from a standard 940 turbo being strong enough to take that sort of power and a whole donor car about 500 quid you could probably afford to spend a fair bit on the bodywork knowing the mechanicals are gonna be cheap, you can push the stock 2.3 turbo up to over 200bhp for the cost of a boost gauge, an MBC and some bits of rubber pipe.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

These cars are ageless, when someone spends time and money on them. As for Volvo building them again, that would be great to see.
