Bought an rs 1800 about 7 years ago, took off the road in 2006 ,since then its been parked up,i never got around to putting back on road.....but i never got rid of it, and i've had a mk1 to play about with. I saw an xr2i the other day and its got me thinking about returning this to the road..it needs ..backbox,heater matrix, wishbones and maybe new arches and cills when i take the body kit off. . i have ford wishbones and matrix..and possibly the chance of a backbox this weekend. But on the other hand I'm thinking get rid of it, theres not really much love for mk 3's, not retro enough to be classed as retro and not modern enough to be wanted.lol. would seem a shame to sell as it would proberly get broken up to help mk1's or 2's. And IIRC there were only 818 made, so quite a rare thing. So has any one got any pics of mk3's on different wheels for me to look at or colours styles etc etc ?? Just need to see if i can feel a bit more love for it or if its got potential thanks. and my mk1

Everything has potential, keep the Mk3! They'll become properly retro within a couple of years, get some nicer wheels on the XR2i and lower it and you'll be fine

RS1800s are getting pretty rare I would think, I reckon you should leave it as it is personally! There's newer stuff on here which isn't as cool I would say

Cheers mate, some cracking pics.
They do look preety good lowered a bit, I'm liking them green wheels, just not in green .lol.
I still have the standard wheels for my rs too, but they look small and don't really fill the arches out enough.
Those pics are giving loads of ideas now !!!

Mk3 Fiestas are about to have their time I reckon - all the blokes who used to draw them in the back of their school books, watch the older lads blezz about in them on a Friday night, and drool over Mk3's Max Power in between rubbing one out over the fit birds in there will be in their 30's by now and will have the money to revisit those boyhood memories! I think they're great - the XR2i and RS versions are hard to find in nice condition these days. Well worth keeping and enjoying!

I remember the turbos coming out in 1990,and the 1800 a bit later ,i was 20 then........feeling much oldness now !! lol
Never could afford one when i was an apprentice. but decided a few years back to scratch the itch i'd had for one when i was younger . but took it off the road, got a van for work and just never had the time to use it so its stayed at the side of the house covered up.
just the other day i saw an xr2i locallly....and its started me thinking !!!l.
So tomorrow I'm going to fire it up..hopefully,has 'nt been started since x-mas time, got battery on charge and go from there i think.

Is it just me that thinks the base-spec front bumper looks much much better than the XR/RS version? Edited: because I can't quote, spell or write properly this evening

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

This VVVVVVVVV ^^^^^ is absolutely bang on the money for me, the very definition of sleeper! OP- Put your RS back on the road, put the original wheels on with spacers and add slam it on coilies, nice reversible mods that'll rekindle the love
