well after much being faffed around and deliberating as to what I want vs need. I took the plunge and bought judgie's 924. for those unfamiliar with her, she's a 1982 2.0 model, as stock, with stripped interior and running porsche cup suspension settings. she's tatty, shonky, and spartan. but mechanically I believe she's perfect. she didnt miss a beat on the 200+ mile journey back. me and my buddy in his mx5 had a blast on the way home. the car didn't miss a beat and behaved impeccably causing a positive correlation of smiles vs miles. plans so far are respray the back end and front valance. mop and polish the rest to bring the exterior back to some form of "glory". and i'm trialling the "stripped out daily" theorem. though in all likelyhood i'd be pretty much satisfied with a set of front door cards to give, particularly the mrs, an illusion of civilisation up front. been out for a play today with her, and we ended up at ynyslas beach, some of you may be familiar with it.... some pics ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ![](http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee419/ocatoro/Porsche%20924/p-3.jpg) ![](http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee419/ocatoro/Porsche%20924/p-2.jpg) ![](http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee419/ocatoro/Porsche%20924/p-1.jpg) back in time to 1988 ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) ![](http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee419/ocatoro/Porsche%20924/p-4.jpg) caught "having a play" ![](http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee419/ocatoro/Porsche%20924/p-drift-harry.jpg)

Good luck with Yes Insurance, I hope you don't need to call on them for anything. Most useless and money stealing company I've ever been with. I had an accident and after getting treated like curse word I gave up and told them to shove their joke of a payout up their ![](http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/underwire/2009/11/fox_60.jpg) . Wish I'd have kept on fighting now and taken it higher up. They're cheap for a reason. Anyway, get those piccies working. I love 924s and 944s at the moment, have been really tempted by a few in the past 6 months

pics fixed oli8925.... actually I believe Yes are just a broker, i'm not sure who the actual insurer are as my documents are not yet through. but i'm 90% sure they mentioned AXA. ive dealt with those in the past and theyve been ok, so fingers crossed! longman... not a bad idea, and it crossed my mind to use perspex. however, doorcards can be had for pennies and it'll save time and money for paint right now

You're right, they are just a broker, although still a useless one. I was with Sabre Insurance through Yes. Never go with Sabre is my advice!
Porka looks nice!

aaahhh beach drifting with an old porsche. I have yet to do that.... managed to abuse many old bmws and fords on beaches though. It's more exciting with that though i'm sure, mostly owing to the imappropriateness of it, so far from what was originally intended for the car

yeah she'll not likely see the beach again for many many moons. its too tempting to mess around. wheel wobble going to the carwash was unbearable. was convinced i'd killed her for a short time.
she's set up for grip though and thats the best part of the car, her handling, so no more beach...ok charnock!!!!

Great handling car the 924! You'll have plenty of fun in that and it's the best colour too. I've had 2 of them and a couple of 944's also, including a 340hp Turbo se. This was my favourite. 1985 2.5 lux: ![](http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m127/dazvr6/ph2.jpg) ![](http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m127/dazvr6/ph4.jpg)

finally had a dry day where i didnt have any other jobs to do... so i cleaned the inside, roughly. she can have a good wash inside another time, but ive removed all the rubbish and hoovered all the dust n crud out for now. i also gave her her 2nd wash and got round to polishing that paint now that it had been brought somewhat back to life.... here is the result ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ![](http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee419/ocatoro/Porsche%20924/p-polished.jpg) considering the paint was like tippex when i bought it, i'm very happy with that shine

924's have never looked better than they do today. 80's Yuppy icon! Nice finish with the paint. Was that just from the Paint renovator, or another polish?

Looks loads better already. Are you keeping it stock? I used to hate 24's and 44's like you but ended up having 4!
