At least you got your cash back bud, the 'homebrew' fannymold is looking good..........A bit of descent sealant would see it servicible. ;D My inlet manifold was cracked, so smeared some heavy duty grab adhesive over the crack & it's worked a treat. I'll replace it soon though as it needs doing. ;D

Yeah i made one to fit the 17mm round the wrong way on the puch, It worked but looking back i made the base plate out of too thin steel, I had to make double the gaskets for the base and then instant gasket it a tad too...
I'm trying to make this a nice un-bendable baseplate so that itll bolt up flat and work first time ;D
Dads taken it to work today to try get an engineering firm to cut the centre hole for me. The steel is so thick my best drill bits were taking ages. Plus i want it a nice uniform circle rather than making one out of loads of little holes.. ;D

Well the inlet base plate is now waiting at an engineering firm ready to be drilled properly (supposedly have it back thursday night) I decided to go mock the exhaust up and try some easy start thru the motor... Didnt get it to fire off it but there was a nice orange flame out of the inlet.... Time for a compression test me thinks

No real pics of it, Camera playing silly buggers, But got the manifold plate back nicely drilled on a lathe ;D Welded a piece of tube at an angle the same as the original onto it. And then made a band round the end of the tube to give somthing for the jubillee clip to hold onto I gotta find a piece of rubber tube to mount the carb up, But when thats found ill make sure I get some pics up... Hopefully itll be running then too oh and I'm driving 280 miles each way to leeds and back to get another spacy for bits on saturday

Looks like it will yield some useful parts, worth the drive by the look of it.

haha.... Slight update, Went to halfords today with the sole intention of buying some RAD hose to see if i could make a temporary manifold boot. But seemingly they no longer sell anything for cars. So ive now done what i was going to do after the rad hose test and ordered some fuel/oil silicone hose and some new jubillee clips to do it right. Now I'm off out to the garage to start playing around with the front end of it and pulling all the cracked plastics off the GOOD bike.

Another update... Finally got the mojo to go and do somthing as I'm still knackered from yesterdays roadtrip. I started with somthing that had been worrying me. I was trying to figure out why it wouldnt fire off the easy start, And this thought that there may be little or no compression dawned on me.... So i made i my gunsons compression tester an adaptor to fit into the head of the spacy. And using my newly aquired HONDA DEALER workshop manual. I found the factory specs and its only .5 psi off its factory compression Realy chuffed with that. Also finished the inlet manifold by tapping the throat and putting a brass takeoff for the vaccum operated petcock into it. Rad looks hunky dory Bike looking a little sory for itself as ive started the front end strip down... Need to rebuild the forks, Change the throttle/ front brake cable and paint the front of the frame/ floor

very very cool Problem being is the spacy is quite short... ^^^ that isnt a spacy, It just uses the front panel off of one. Its more likely a helix or somthing even later.

Oh yeah i knew it wasnt a proper spacy, just had a similar front, could be inspiration though

Well this is slightly annoying....
Finished the manifold , Got the silicone tube and mounted the carb, Pipes and whatnot...
Primed the carb so i could get the tank clear of my jumpleads ;D
Still wont go.
I sware the spark is too small.
No matter what i do the spark allways seems a bit half ars*d, Its orange with the occasional flec of blue rather than a fat blue you'd expect.
Especially with the £9 irridium spark plug in there..
Sooo , New coil on order as the ht lead on the current one seems realy realy flexible and the copper core seems to have gone green, At least at the cap end.
Ill get pics of the manifold and HOPEFULLY a vid of it running soon ;D

Does sound like a weak spark from the way you've described it, new coil & lead just might do the trick. I'm guessing this was laid up for a while prior to you buying it (?)
