it sure does, but it also has horrid wheels, narsty flames and is a vomit inducing colour! Actually the colour would possibly be OK without the flames. Thats my charitable comment about it anyway You can (usually) get away with a lot more on a 2 door than a 4 door which is why I'm a little at a loss for ideas for the ol' FD. That scheme on the '65 would look even worse on a 4 door than it does on the coupe.

so do I do the recess between the rear lights in black or body colour? Body colour is stock on a Victor but the Ventora has it in black... Not sure if this helps as the colour is so far off but here's a comparison.

Just my personal choice:
Wing mirrors off and filled over and replaced with "bullet" shaped chrome ones near the A-posts.
Badges and stripes gone
Front grill simplified & "toned down" a bit & rear panel filled over / toned down - will draw attention to the nice "coke bottle" lines.
Clear lenses / redded out lenses where applicable as discussed is a winner.
Wheels - get the nasty silver colour off them and polish them up to a proper shine and clear laquer.
Keep exhaust under car rather than side exit, but go for twin square DTM style tail pipes as fitted to later big engine Vauxhalls like the senator?
Vinyl roof has to go - body colour all over would be a lot nicer.
Finally, when budget recovers, have a very suble green tint done on the windows.

Excuse the slapdash, I'm a bit tired.... Lowered with rake, Mopar-esque matt/satin black side stripes, with original 'Voctor' logo reversed ou in body colour on the rear quarter, matt/satin bonnet, matt/satin rims FTW!

That's quite cool! I'm not sure that wheels black would look good though. Maybe it'd be one of those 'in the flesh' things.
What about bodycolour wheels? ;D

Call that slap dash, this is slap dash! (Chip Foose I aint!) Satin black bonnet, going all the way back to the windscreen, "hiding" the air intakes just in front of the windscreen, and spreading across the top of the front wings, but leaving a body colour border around the top of the wing and the front edge of the bonnet. Also carrying on along the doors, tapering out to a point just before the kick up for the rear wing. Apologies for the p!ss poor picture! "Hi, my name is Alistair, and I have been underwhelmed"

Hi, my name is Alistair, and I have been underwhelmed LMAO! I see what you're getting at though. Interesting... Jettadeluxe, thats absolutely cock-on. Thats the sort of thing I was trying to think of but couldn't quite. Between you and Bodieanddoyle get a slap on the back I think. that green works better than the green I chose though!

NIghtmares, that looks great, but shouldn't the top line follow the shape of the wing line?

i had a quick idea but it all hangs on getting the right shades of green;
how about a fade- darkish metalic green fading up from the bottom going into bright bottle metalic green, topped off with the roof in the same dark green as the bottom!
or would that excentuate the lines too much?

Just a quickie, and not that different from the others but: Black on top (satin) with a muscle band around the back (complete with Victor logo) and a Nascar inspired wheel tyre package created with black paint and some tyre lettering. Purple indicators are optional!

Is that the one with the Sierra IRS which I got outbid on on eBay about a year ago? Something about the Mk3 lends itself to wilder graphics than the FD does for some reason. Lost more stuff "works" on an Mk3 which looks a bit Pete Tong on a FD. I think its because te Mk3 has the more musclecar style short boot and also squarer flanks. makes them look more "sporting" even in a 4 door. rmad - rumble bee stripe is inspirational! I had orignially thought of a satin black top split at the wing tips, but thought I didn't like it as it would be too much flat paint and the cars not "hot" enough to carry it off.

Is that the one with the Sierra IRS which I got outbid on on eBay about a year ago? yeah that'll be the one ;D it is a lovely car but needs a fair ammount of work that said everything on it was brand new when built it just never got finished and that sierra rear is a brand new cosworth rear there are alot of muscle car ques on the FD that realy work better than they would on the mk3 tina but the same is true in the other way round in a sort of GM v Ford type way the ford looks more aggresive but the FD alway looks like it could be hiding somthing that would work so well on the FD
